So i took the risk and bought a dress online. Only thing is the tail is HUGE, with ruffles, also it looks better than i expected. It needs a hoop, which i have and it bends and everything. Here”s the problem, How do i sit down in it, which i’ll have to at the ceremony. When i sit down nobody can come within 2 feet of me, idk if i sit on the dress and hoop or what? help, and the hoop goes up a tiny bit when i sit down, my shoes show. but with the tail and ruffles idk how i’d be able to move around in it, sit down without making a commotion about it.

Question- why would you put a hoop in it?
After the ceremony, I would bustle the back up. That will still give you the ruffles but pull the train up so that you can dance and sit easily.

can you use a petticoat/crinoline instead of a hoop?
and fab dress btw – wow, can you share where and how much for some of the other Bees that might be interested

Instead of a hoop, you could use a crinoline.

The dress looks like it has good volume already, I would vote for a crinoline – but you might need a mermaid one – it looks like you have a drop waist.

I just put a crinoline under my dress so when I sat, I just sat on all of it. After the ceremony, the train was bustled so it was like sitting on a big pillow.

I actually got it on ebay from china. Its nothing like the original dress, which i later found was a lot uglier on another bride, nothing like the model. The only thing that kept me from ordering another was the price. Everything was custom sowed according to my size (which is rare to find btw because i am naturally short and skinny). I didnt have to get it altered, which would have cost more than the price of the dress. I just didnt see myself spending a grand on a dress that i would wear once.

I talked to a seamstress, she said it would be extreemly hard for the train to get bustled and it wouldnt look as good without the train. And the dress doesnt sit properly without a hoop even though it originally has a lot of volume.
And for the brides that are looking for a dress, EBAY! i paid for mine $150. A very similar one in another country is $1,200. You’ll wear it only once.
What i did was go to a bridal salon to try on all kinds of styles, mermaid, a line etc.. and i came to the conclusion of what looks better on me and I ordered according to that.

I second crinoline… A seamstress could help. If not, perhaps they could make accomodations for you to stand in the ceremony?
