I need to buy a dress for my bridal shower and two parties that friends are throwing for us. I found this dress that I think is so pretty but am unsure if it’s too fancy? I really want a maxi dress and havn’t found one yet that I love and then saw this one. Also, would it be too much to wear to other weddings? Thanks for the help!

I think you could wear that anywhere. I also think you can find something really similar for much cheaper. It’s cute tho, totally up to you.

Love it! I think you could wear that anywhere. I voted that you could wear it to other weddings, but I think it would depend on the weddings themselves. I could see that dress at formal weddings, and maybe even an outdoor country-club type wedding.

I don’t think it’s “too fancy” for an event as long as the event is at the same level of fanciness as the dress, if that makes sense! 😉 i.e. if you were going to a super casual wedding where people wear flip flops, then this dress would be too fancy.

Forever21 has a zillion maxis… I realize the fabric and construction might be different but if I’m 100% honest I absolutely hate charm so I wouldn’t go for that DB dress anyway.
these are all $24.80 (or less)

@KristenGotMarried: Those are all really cute. I’m not a fan of chameuse either. It feels weird against my skin!

The only thing I would be concerned about is wearing the dress to another wedding. At most of the weddings I’ve been to, the only ones wearing long dresses (if anyone) is the bridal party. You don’t want to distract from the them. If the wedding is formal enough to warrant a long dress, I feel as though the print on it makes it not formal enough.

@KristenGotMarried: Okay, so this could be a stupid question but I honestly have no idea. Is chameuse not silky (that’s how it looks in the pictures)?

Also I’m not sure what size you are, but if you can go XL, Forever 21 has some great maxis in their plus size category too! I think I need this first one.

@Birdee106: Charm is silky – it’s a satin weave, but it’s usually made with polyester. I just hate the way it shows every bump and flaw no matter what your figure is, and I also am not a fan of how shiney it is. But a lot of people love it! So its really about what you want.
One word of warning, however: charm can get hot. Like, satin-hot. It doesn’t breathe very well, so if you’re doing lots of things this summer, you might want to reconsider.

@KristenGotMarried: Ugh, I’m actually the opposite, I need extra small. which sucks because most places are either sold out or don’t carry extra smalls. Thanks for the pics though! Those are super cute!
