Hmmm… is there something else you could do to make the sides “different”? Different accessories, different dress styles? Or do you think it should all look the same?

I don’t think two different colors will look strange at all!

But purple and green might be a bit… much.

What if one side had the green dresses, and the other side a more neutral color, like gray or black?

One of my guy friends had a “groomsgirl”, and she wore a charcoal gray dress, standing with the other guys who were in charcoal gray suits – and the bridesmaids were in yellow.  I thought it looked fantastic.

What if you get them all to get a dress in black or a charcoal grey but then her girls have a purple sash/shoes/accessories/whatever, and yours have green? Then they would look unified but not team like.

Do you have more than main color? If you do…you can have your girls wear the main color for their dresses and maybe have them in a different style than your bride’s girls. Usually, I have seen GMs wear the main color only but I have seen BMs wear the main colors (usually 2) of the wedding or wear a lighter and darker shade of the main color.

I voted for same color dresses but it would cute if you accessorized differently for the different sides. I agree with another poster – the green and purple would look a little much (possibly like opposing teams). I think you went with more neutral colors (like charcoal and cream or something), you could probably pull off the 2 different colors and it would look great in pictures.

I don’t think it would look strange at all to have both sets of ladies in different colors. But like pp have said, purple and green may compete too much. I think you have a lot of options, but I would go for more neutral colors, or neutrals with colored accessories.

If you’re wedding is going to be kinda fun and quirky, I think it could work fine.

Otherwise, I really like it in a much less dramatic way. Maybe this would be a good compromise. 🙂

I really like the idea that msfuturea posted too. I think you can work something out, and I do think it’s a good idea to have some sort of distinction between the two sides.

    Good luck!! 🙂

lybarra I see what you mean! I let my BMs pick their own styles as well. I have seen a few weddings where the BMs were in one color and the GMs were in another, so I don’t see why it would be a problem to have the two sides have different color dresses. PPs had some great suggestions too.

@lybarra:  green and purple are actually really pretty wedding colors (my brother used them for his wedding) so I think if you used them for the wedding decor, flowers etc, it would be beautiful! But you could accent with silver/gray or even champagne, and then maybe have all the girls in that neutral colored dress with different accessories. It would even look amazing if you did silver/gray dresses and had one side carry purple bouquets and the other side carry green!

What about same dresses, but different bouquets for the bridesmaids?

@lybarra:  No problem!! I definitely need a visual to make any decision so I completely understand lol.

If you still like the suit idea better..what about something like these? They are both from Victoria’s Secret. Idk any girl that wouldn’t feel feminine and sexy in these suits! 🙂

They have this one in black too
