@Cleighnj:  Do you have a picture of the dress?

They might apply your deposit to another dress from the store, have you called to talk to them about it?

Dress regret isn’t an uncommon thing, I’m sure they are very used to brides wanting to exchange their dress!

Don’t worry if they think you’re crazy! You have to be happy. I cancelled two different dresses as well! They, and all of my family and friends, thought I was crazy, but I now feel confident that I will love my dress on the day of my wedding. (It would be so nice if they made the cancellation process easier on us indecisive brides, though… haha)

Aw sweetie, I feel so bad for you! I went through the exact same thing. I was able to switch my dress out for a different one at my bridal salon,

Is there ANY way you can get your deposit back? Beg, cry??

@kam9035:  Yeah, they definitely should. Can you imagine how much $$$ these bridal salons make off us changing our mind and losing our deposits?! Criminal.

I would definitely contact them.
I bought a dress and less than a week later cancelled it. I went in the day after with some regret, but couldn’t make another dress work.  I contacted them at the end of the week saying that I wanted to cancel and they did so with just a $75 cancellation fee and refunded the rest of our depoist. It was really great!

Talk to them, and they will likely at least let you apply the deposit to another dress.

Good luck!

Can we see the dress? This is a very common problem! as you can see by all the gowns posted on preowned sites!  Maybe sell you gown and look for another on a preowned site for a reduced price? There are a ton of them! This is fixable dont panic! But also step back and give it a little Time, you must have lovedyour gown at first. Take a deep breath!

I agree with PP. I have done just that. I put a deposit on a dress that I regretted and could not cancel. I decided to suck it up, went online and found my dream dress from a girl that was selling it half price, brand new!

My first dress isn’t even made yet, but even if I sell it for half price when I do get it, I’m laughing.

Don’t worry! There are always options. It’s not the end of the world. You are not the only one with dress regrets ๐Ÿ™‚

@Cleighnj:  First, call them and see if you can a) switch the order to a new dress (but it sounds like you may have already done that and they said no…) in which case b) ask if you can at least just cancel the order so you don’t have to pay for the rest of the dress (since you said you’re ready to cut your losses with the deposit).

Do that step first because if you can cancel, then you can just let that go and start fresh. And if you can’t cancel, then you can look into selling that dress.

I’ve been having a lot of anxiety recently so I totally get it. Just breathe and take it one step at a time!
