I know, I know.. I shouldn’t have. But I went to a bridal store and tried on a few dresses, even though I’ve already bought a dress and it’s already sitting in the store until its time for alterations. But this weekend, I went to a salon, and tried on a few dresses and fell in love with two of them! An $8,000 Alvina Valenta dress that was marked down to $1795! And a $3,000 Rosa Clara dress marked down to $1295! The Alvina dress had all this beautiful intricate beading and the most luxurious fabric. The Rosa Clara dress had a train to die for. Everyone else in the store was oooing and aaahing over it. Another bride asked to try on the Alvina she loved it so much. They are samples, so once they’re sold, that’s it.
How do I get this dress out of my head?!

Oy. I think this is quite common and I’m a culprit in doing this as well. The key to gown shopping is to STOP shopping after you commit. It’s REALLY easy to get sucked in again, because it’s fun, you are the center of attention, everyone ooh’s and aah’s. But learn from the mistakes of others and quit while you are ahead! It’s not as easy to sell unused wedding dresses as you would think. I have my “other” dress on four different websites and haven’t heard a peep from any interested buyers.

I love your dress (dress twin)! I went through the same dress regret but thankfully bees were able to make me see how beautiful our dress truly is ๐ I’m curious though, did you end up getting another dress?

@bella0831: I didn’t get the other dress. I actually went this weekend, and the sample I was thinking of was still there! I was hoping someone purchased it so I wouldn’t have to think about it anymore! In the end, I decided it wasn’t “bridal” and more red carpet. Then I went back to my bridal salon and tried on the sample of my dress and loved it!

@rosiet: Yay! I know the feeling too! I tried it on at my bridal salon again today. It truly is beautiful and I’m sure it will look even better once all the alterations are done ๐

It’s a trumpet dress with BEAUTIFUL beading throughout. I think I loved it so much because bling is what’s missing on my actual dress… but I’ll be fixing that with a bling sash ๐ The salon doesn’t let me take pictures otherwise I would have!

@rosiet: I completely understand! I must get a bling sash too! I also think the sweetheart neckline will make it even more beautiful! Have you done your alterations yet? I am dying to see our dress with a sweetheart neckline!
