Your first dress is beautiful, but the second one also looks stunning. Have you looked into how much it would cost to possibly alter the lace section on the one you have to be more like the “straps” in the second one?

I second the altering of the neckline! I love your dress on you! I think if you cut a v into the lace, that would give you the younger look you are looking for, while keeping that classic lace look. =)

I might be in the “get the second dress” camp – you look stunning in it, and your body language in the 1st photo says it all. If you don’t love it, to me it’s a no go!

I love your original dress! It is so classy and elegant. It is more unique than the second dress. Stick with your dress. It’s beautiful.

I love both dresses but I think I am leaning towards the first because it is more unique. It also looks more expensive with the fuller skirt and what looks like a higher quality lace.
As the others have said, perhaps you need to investigate changing the neckline of the first one? You could make it an illusion v-neck or a Queen Anne neckline like this one:

Alternatively you could just lower the neckline slightly so it’s around about the height of a choker necklace, or slightly further down and make it a bateau neck.
Or you could keep it as is at the front and create a keyhole back. That will bring just a little extra sexy.

Can you find out if an alterations place could cut the lace? You could do a neckline more like Kate Middleton’s. I personally think the first one is a nicer dress, minus the high neck. The skirt and train are lovely!

Well, you really can’t go wrong because they are both STUNNING!
But, my take is this: you still have time to try to sell the first one while thinking about the second. Why not try to sell it and see how it goes?
I think the chances of regretting getting the second are low. The chances of regretting keeping the first are high, so I’d say try to sell the first and buy the second.
But, if you keep the first, you will look EFFING GORGEOUS on your wedding day, and I don’t think you’ll have true regret.

I don’t like the 2nd dress nearly as much as the first….I also support altering the neckline

They’re both pretty dresses. I think you’ll look awesome if you keep the first one, but if you aren’t truly happy with it it’s worth it to get the second one. I got a second dress and I am so happy I did.

the first dress is lovely but the 2nd one has that “wow” factor!!! it is absolutely gorgeous on you and you seem much more comfortable in it, so i vote the 2nd dress…beautiful.

I am usually all for purchasing a new gown and getting your dream dress, but I have to say that the dress you purchased is AMAZING! it looks absolutely STUNNING on you and I think it far exceeds dress #2. look at your face in dress 1, it says it all 🙂

@mariana17: You could easily alter the dress you already have to look like the second one. They are very similar to each other.. That way, you might have to put a little extra money into it, but you won’t have to deal with the headache of selling your current dress and buying the new one!
