@prisipops:  Aww, don’t fret!  I really, really loved a similar dress (by DaVinci) but had the same concerns about looking blocky – the store manager pinched the straps in a bit from the outer edge (so they weren’t so straight up and down) and it made a huge difference!  If you wanted to do something even more drastic, you could remove some or all of the top lace line and illusion netting to make it a true v-neck, which is very flattering.  Also, once the waist and hips are adjusted to fit you, I think you’ll see much more of your shape.

In all seriousness, this dress is gorgeous and classic and I’m sure it will look awesome on you.  I totally would be wearing something similar except I am apparently the only person who didn’t think it was crazy to wear this style for an evening beach wedding 😛  Please post with follow-up pics so I can wear it vicariously through you!

That dress is gorgeous!  Did you get it with that wrap in the middle?  I’m not sure if it’s sewn on or if you put it on, but that should really help give you curves!

To majorly alter it it might cost a lot but it’s worth talking to a seamstress about your concerns.

Seriously, that dress is beautiful.  I think you should wait and have the alterations done to get a better idea of what it would look like on you. It is really pretty though.
