1) That dress is stunning. You look amazing in it!
2) If its not what you want, you can always sell this one and buy one that makes your heart sing
3) Rock your scar. You should have told this person off – how fucking rude! On of the girls that I work with, her daughter broke her back when she was 14. She had to get spinal surgery and now has a crazy scar all the way down her back. she’s 16 now (and can walk again!) and purposely looks for backless shirts to show off her scar. It’s something that makes her unique, shows she went through something and came out stronger. I thought that was so amazing. From this kid! A PP posted padma, but also Kylie Jenner has a scar on her leg and often shows it off. A scar is nothing to be ashamed of.

I think your dress is pretty, but if you aren’t feeling it and brought it for the wrong reasons then try to sell it and find another. Let your scar show! Be proud of who you are.

Thank you everyone for the lovely and empowering comments!! <3
I have an appointment for tomorrow to go try on a few dresses. I have my eye on a fit and flare Mori Lee gown that is on sale!!! My wedding is July 29th. Hopefully it is not too late to order another gown.
I think I am just going to sell the one I originally got and wear my scar proudly 🙂
Thank you again everyone!!!

I would get a quote for alterations and decide between getting a new dress and altering this one to fit your style. Whoever said that may have just assumed that you would care about covering the scar and maybe didn’t mean any harm? I had a bright scar down my forehead for a few years and it never ceased to amaze me the things that people feel comfortable saying. The illusion does look beautiful on you so just decide what is important to you in your dress and make it happen cost effectively. I’m sure if you think outside the box a bit you can get your dream dress no problem 🙂 Just make sure you love it! You only get one!

I personally love it on you <3

I honestly think on your body type a ballgown-ish dress would look much better. As for people making you abandon your dream style in order to cover a scar on your back?! Idiots! I feel sad for you that they made think you had to do that. Since your Fiance is being so understanding I think you should get another dress. Maybe you can negotiate with the shop you bought it, they could keep it for another bride or whatever.

yay!! The Jovi 🙂 I wore that dress for my reception 🙂 You look stunning in it. I’m so sad your family member mentioned your scar, don’t be self concious on your wedding day. People will be soooo happy to see you. The scar will be the least of your worries. If it helps, I do get back acne, ugh, and this dress was perfect to hide some of my flaws. I’m so dang happy to see this dress on you. Are you planning on wearing the train? Beautiful!

rosieposie3 : p.s. I had dress regret with the same dress, because while I loved it on and at the shop, I hated the terrible marketing photos. And I showed some people and they were not impressed. I spent months worrying, but honestly, on the day, it was perfect. It came together with everything, and the dress was the star of the show. Actually everyone wanted a picture of the back, and I don’t have many with my groom, oops.
