Bought my dress at a pop-up dress sale. It needs major alterations as you can see from photos. Should i buy a new dress that needs simple if any alterations (short ankle length or tea length with no boning) abd sell this one or go with what i have and spend up to $400 on alterations? Trying to keep our wedding budget….

Yep, I would go with a new dress if that is not the dress you envisioned. It looks like it needs a lot of alterations. And then after you spend a fortune on alterations, you may still not like it. For $400 you can probably buy what you are looking for.

Yes, new dress. It’s easy to see on your face in both pictures that this dress is NOT the one.

You look really unhappy in your pictures, so I vote for new dress.

In your situation, I would say that you should get a new dress. I’m sure you will be able to find a new dress that will make you happy while still staying within budget. Best of luck to you!

If it is a budget issue then I would sell/return this dress and start over. But you don’t have to get a tea length dress if you are wanting a more formal gown like pictured here! (Not that there is anything wrong with a tea length dress). There are plenty of dresses at David’s Bridal and online that you can find for cheap. If you are near a David’s Bridal, be on the look out for their $99 gown sale. And you can go in any time and see what they have on the clearance rack!

Agreed, new dress. Here are a few more tea length gowns, varying prices but hopefully helpful, samples or used are always options too:

I think if your willing to spend $400 on alterations you could find something that suits you better. Preownedweddingdresses.com has lots for $400…..
