So I’m kind of having dress regret. My dress came in super early which is great, but now I’m having 2nd thoughts. The dress on the left is unaltered and no clips to hold it in. It fits me pretty well other than through the bust and waistline. The picture on the right is from when I first tried it on in the store and they were able to use clips on the sample. I’m hoping alterations make a difference because I don’t feel like it even looks like the same dress.

I think once you get the top and waist altered that that’ll make a huge difference! And if you’re wanting it to be poofier too you could always add a petticoat underneath. You look beautiful!

I think you need to go through alterations before you get upset about it. It looks nice. give it time. 🙂

Id wait until you see a seamstress. But it does look like you lost some weight, maybe that is making it look even more loose?

Alterations will make all the difference! They definitely did with mine. Your dress is beautiful 🙂

Oh thats just the alterations!! They will fix all of that for you. And FWIW, my dress was the same, I had to order a larger size for my hips, which made the top and bodice way too big and almost hanging on me. I go to my first alterations appt Jan 7th. They better be pretty good. lol.
Seriously though, I wouldn’t worry!

the lace pattern of the skirt is clearly different, it’s not the same dress.

I agree! Not the same dress!!

Dresses come in in a universal size and have to be altered to fit your unique shape. Worry not!

Just needs altering – you look beautiful and it will look even better when altered to fit properly (as opposed to clipped/just “on”).

Please don’t have dress regret, I love it on you, it’s so pretty! Once you have the alterations done it will have the shape you liked from the fitting.

I don’t think the lace around the neckline looks the same.

Hold that regret for now. Wait for the alterations then your regret may be eliminated. Beautiful dress!

The lace detail on the skirt and shape of the belt detail look different in these pictures. It seriously does look like a different dress. Can you go back to the store where you ordered from and look at the sample again?
I also think that the dress you received looks nice on you and will look even better with alterations. But if it’s not right then it’s not right!

Alterations makes the world of a difference. My dress was so big on top when I got it in that it looked like a potatoe sack- looked great on my wedding day though.
