So true!!!  “Comparison is the theif of joy.”  If we are constantly comparing our dress to everyone else’s, we won’t be able to enjoy what we have!  And I’m not saying this judgmentally – I have had pangs of dress regret too.  But I just remind myself that I chose my dress for a reason and that it will look amazing on my wedding day.

stealingcinderella:  I agree, but it’s hard!

I work next to a dress store, so I always see pretty new ones in the window (I never go try them on, but I still see them ALL the time).

I also had trouble when I started going for fittings — my dress was a sample when I tried it on, so very tight. The actual dress fits very differently than I expected — to get it to look even remotely as good as the sample I had to make it tighter, which meants it does have a bit of awkward bunching in the stomach, and I’m going to have to take it off to go to the washroom/restroom, which sucks.

Even if you do everything right and avoid other dresses, it’s possible to feel a bit of regret if your actual dress doesn’t fit like the sample did!

stealingcinderella:  I’ve had most alterations done — I go for my final fitting in 3 weeks.

Here are pics of the sample:

And now after alterations:

It’s still a gorgeous dress, but I probably would have done with something else had I known there would be bunching/I wouldn’t be able to easily go to the bathroom. Everyone says this dress is still infinitely nicer than my second choice, but knowing I paid so much for a dress that isn’t perfect (because of the bunching) drives me a little bit crazy.

stealingcinderella:  NO NO NO NO! I saw your dress and it’s stunning!  With body like yours you gonna rock that dress.  90% of population in US would only wish to look like that on their wedding day.  What do you not like about the dress anymore? please stop looking at other stuff.  You look amazing in your dress.

tagerosan:  Awe, you’re so sweet, thank you!! That honestly makes me so happy to hear!

I’m definitely trying to not focus on the bunching — it just seems crazy that you could spend close to $2,000 on something (with alterations/belt), and it doesn’t fit 100% flawlessly.

stealingcinderella:  I love your dress! The back is GORGEOUS and the lace is such a unique pattern! Definitely try it on with a veil, I think it’ll be perfect!
