So I went to a high end dress store and fell in love with a dress that I just couldn’t bring myself to buy due to the price with alterations. I loved everything about the dress and was a little disappointed leaving. Then I went to Davids Bridal and found a dress similar that I could afford so in the moment I bought it. I barely tried any dresses on though and I am the worse at second guessing myself. I tried on the dress again at alterations and it was alright, I just didn’t feel amazing in it. Please help!
(the bottom of the first one isn’t pink just the lighting makes it look that way, this is the one I really love)
(this is the one I bought…)

I think the dress is beautiful! I suppose you could go and try some others on to help you figure this out, but I think that dress looks terrific.

that dress is absolutely gorgeous on you. if it makes you feel better, go try on a few more, then come home and try yours on again.

I really like it….I think it fits you well and looks classy. I really think you should keep it!

I think it looks great! I think you might feel better if you added the bling sash.

Add a sash and deepen the sweetheart on the DB dress and it’s nearly the same as the first one (does the DB dress have a bow? I think another bee had that dress too and removed the bow). I think you did great!

They are really similar IMO, and you look great in the one you bought! I’d definitely try adding a sash and see if you like it better that way.

i think it looks great on you! to be honest i prefer the neckline of the one you bought, and i think with a sparkly sash/belt thing theres not a big difference between the dresses. You can even add a flower/puffy thing (sorry i cant quite see what it is in first photo) to second dress if you want! In terms of the way it fits – looks great =)
It sounds to me you’ve been struck by “what if theres something better/i like more syndrome” – i get it too, and even with a great dress it can make you feel dis-satisfied

@pinkfrog: Yes it does have a bow, I know they very similar but the difference in pleating and fabric is what made me love the first one so much. Their similarities is why I bought the DB one so quickly, but I have been doubting that choice ever since I left the store. Thank you though!

@jessitaylor: Thank you, I might try adding a sash. Maybe it will help. I definitely am going through that syndrome…and I hate it! haha. I went to get my dress alone and I bought it within 3 hours of shopping in one day, so I feel like I barely saw anything. I just want to feel beautiful and all this doubt is interfering!

Thanks ladies. I do think the DB is nice I am just not sure if I feel gorgeous in it and that is the feeling I am looking for! I might check out some more dresses but thank you for your input it is greatly appreciated. I will keep you all posted on what I go with!

I think the dress you bought is extremely close to the one that you loved. The biggest difference I see is that the one you loved has a deeper sweetheart neckline…could your seamstress alter the neckline to make it a little more dramatic for you? Other than that just add a sparkly sash and you’ve got the same dress. You look amazing By The Way 🙂

@Ailleacht29: oh wow let me tell you that I LOVE the 2nd one much more than the 1st one!
Is the first Mikaella 1406?
I had the Mikaella but sold it because I wanted to feel more timeless…
the bubble hem is definitely a trend that will fade… and the flower/feather combo too!
I think the DB is much more sophisticated and that bow is a timeless detail!
I LOVE THAT DB DRESS!
You made the right choice with the DB, I promise!
