I hope I’m not alone about this after-the-wedding-dress-regret. Is it normal to feel this way?
My designer (my gown was custom-made) sort of rushed the finishing of my dress. I did not see the final output until the wedding day. There were some parts of the dress which I’m not really thrilled about, especially the fitting around my bum. It was too tight, the designer adjusted it in order to correct it but lo and behold, it still did not fit right. I didn’t notice it on the day but when I saw the photos, that’s when I saw that something was not right at the back of the dress.
It’s been six months since the wedding. While I’m very happy about our wedding, I sometimes get sad when I look at our pics because of the flaws that I see on my dress. Though my now-husband says that I (and my dres) was beautiful, I can’t help but think that I made the wrong decision especially because no one said anything about my dress on the day of. It’s driving me crazy! I’m actually thinking now that my gown is really ugly — yes, I’ve already come to that point.
Fortunately, I’ve already started to get over it especially after I’ve spoken to the designer about his shortcomings. But sometimes (just like now), I “relapse” and feel sad again. So my advice to my fellow bees, make sure that you allot enough time to pick your dress and have it fitted properly.
Note: The pictures below are RAW pro pics. They have yet to be edited. For the back-of-the-dress pictures, I picked one where the fitting-error was noticeable and one where it’s not.

I think it’s stunning!! Does not look too tight around the bum area at all. I bet no one would even notice what you’re referring to at all if you didn’t say something. I think it looks like it fits perfectly. I felt like my dress was a little too tight around my chest area, but everyone complimented how it “fits like a glove.” We are our own hardest critics!

I think the dress is gorgeous and I can’t see the faults you described.
I noticed in some pictures I had back fat – as the corset shifted during the night =/ bummer but nothing I can do about it now. I have some dress regret but I try to think about what I did like in the dress and that first feeling I had when I put it on …

I agree! We are our own hardest critics! I’m a perfectionist so I can see the tiniest of flaws — big reason why this is bothering me so much!
Yeah, I also try to remember all the happiness during the day. It helps me forget about my dress regret.

I know how you feel. My dress was also custom made and I look at my wedding photos and think my dress is not what I really wanted… but amidst all the wedding planning I stopped caring and couldn’t make decisions (I called it ‘decision fatigue’) – It was very hard to envision what my dress would look like in the end as the dressmaker kept making suggestions as we went. I like my dress in some photos and hate it in others.

I felt like I trusted the designer so much because I told/showed him what I wanted. Two weeks before the wedding, I was already starting to have doubts. However, it was too late to get another dress so I just went with this one.
The dress looked beautiful in videos when it’s moving but like you, I don’t like it in some photos.

I think you look stunning! The dress is very detailed and it looks absolutely beautiful. Also your butt looks great and I can’t see any visible pulling. I bet I will feel the same way looking at pics after my wedding but I am also soo harsh on myself, most women are!

What the heck are you talking about?? It’s amazing on you!!! I was looking for a flaw and couldn’t see anything wrong! I doubt anybody else did! Honestly, do not worry or stress over this any more! It’s just beautiful.

I also think it’s a beautiful dress and can’t see what you’re talking about.

I’m sorry you’re feeling that way.. I’ve had a tiny bit of regret, sometimes I think I went a little too safe with my choice and could have picked something more unique and special.
BUT I think your dress is absolutely stunning! That last picture is amazing!

You looked absolutely gorgeous. I can’t see a single flaw. I wish my dress looked as killer as yours does!

Minus a few ripples along the butt area I’m not sure what flaws you see. I hope one day you see the beauty in your figure and in the dress that the rest of us can see. Because that dress is drop dead gorgeous and you look drop dead gorgeous in it!
