@leahlou:  could you post a picture of you in your dress, so we can tell you how pretty you are, that your dress is beautiful, and make you feel better? πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

P.S.- every bride will have dress regret in 3-10+ years when all of these styles on the boards, and even your dream dress- will go out of style.

Have a marriage more beautiful than your wedding dress- Congrats btw!

@leahlou:  I personally like the dress you wore better, you looked awesome! i hope you look back on this 10+ years from now and realize how much you rocked that dress. Also, please stop being so hard on yourself, most people’s backs would look like that in a corset! There’s no fat there! Seriously, you look gorgeous in that dress and I hope I look as good as you did in your dress on my wedding day in 10 months.

I had a really hard time picking a dress because there’s so many pretty ones out there!  I told myself that someday I’ll wear more of the other types I loved when I do vow renewals πŸ™‚

I prefer the dress you wore. Not just trying to cheer you up!

Your hubby is probably just trying to agree with you to be supportive but I’m sure he thought you were drop dead gorgeous in the one you wore.

@leahlou:  so you’ll probably hate me for this but I wore that Martina Liana and sometimes I Think I should have gotten a different dress. I think we just tend to nit pick and be too critical of ourselves. Your dress was beautiful and you looked great in it! And girl, we all have a little back fat at certain angles. I know I did!! I know it’s easier said than done (I’m going through the same thing right now) but try to focus on the things you loved about the day and soon the dress won’t even matter

@leahlou:  I think my post-wedding dress regret (even two years later) is mainly just brought on by seeing so many gorgeous brides in their dresses, and wishing that I had tried on more dresses!  It happens though, i promise you’re not alone!

Yup I am also currently experiencing dress regret after MY dress arrived and after the wedding. The dress I got…I dunno it has a specific cut to its shape. It doesn’t flatter many figures. And the boutique sample looked entirely different on me than the dress in my size. Immediately after it arrived from the manufacturer and as soon as I tried it on, i could tell I wasn’t going to be as happy with it as I thought. I realized it was physically a different dress in a different size and was brand new instead of stretched out and clipped up. on my wedding day, it didn’t look at all like how I thought it would from my boutique experiences, OR even the alterations fittings. But how on earth is a first time bride supposed to know these sorts of things to prevent them from happening? shes not going to. Ya just have to be relaxed, and accept the choices u made and trust that u looked beautiful (which u did, btw). Mine actually WAS my dream dress. It just didn’t look like the sample tho it was the same style. So who knows if u would have even been happy with the Martina liana in the end either.

I didn’t have dress regret until the day of the wedding. My seamstress messed it up so badly I still want to cry. She took it tin when it fit perfectly before, didn’t hem it enough, and completely screwed up the bustle. All of my pics from the side and back look terrible. It’s been a year and A half and I’m not over it.

You look ridiculously great in that dress – really! And remember that your guests didn’t any other dress on you, so they have nothing to compare it to. They just saw you looking stunning in this one.

(And your husband needs a lesson in Talking to his Wife 101 – never admit to something like that, dude! Little white lies are where it’s at!)

I can kinda relate though. I really loved my dress, especially since I got it for $120. Would I have loved a Claire Pettibone or Jenny Packham more? Definitely. But I rocked it! No use in comparing now πŸ™‚

Shelby81 :  I feel you on the dress being too big. I was quite mad looking back at pictures. My dress ft me perfect but my seemstress kept saying it was too tight to sit in… I would have managed as it stretched as the night went on. To add insult to injury my bridesmaids didn’t do my dress up properly inside so it kept falling all day and was Bunche in all the wrong places. I still haven’t gotten professional pictures but I’m praying that all my concerns will have been photoshopped.
