but if the Vera is what you dream of, if it is your perfect dress, then the money shouldn’t matter too much πŸ™‚

The Vera is gorgeous, I’m a Vera bride too. They usually have a small-mid train so be prepared for that! I think its very original!

If ur not happy then try on more dresses and more dresses can it hurt ?? Nope , I’m all for making myself happy and if I started doubting myself I’d have a look around , dresses here in aust are so much dearer , my allure was $1500 plus alterations I wouldn’t even dare look up Vera Wang here lol I’d say try on the vw ,if it makes you feel better it’s the same price as a normal dress here lol

Good luck and keep us updated x

Vera Wang is ‘only’ $1500?!?! I say ‘only’ because I presumed they’d start at $5k and go up skywards…

My favorites are Vera and No. 2… Vera is indeed very fun, but make sure you can ‘pull it off’. From the pic where you’re trying it on, looks like you can!

Am off to check out Vera Wang stocklists in UK, never even considered it as an option… although, I also had a look at a couple of their previous collections and wasn’t very impressed either.

    This dress is stunning!!!

I know nothing about sewing but they may be able to take the straps off of it. Maybe you would like it better that way? That’s the biggest difference I see between the dress you have now and the ones you’re considering.

Also this: So I am thinking maybe my dress is the one thing I should splurge on to make me feel good.

But then would you feel just as bad having spent more money on a dress than you wanted to? The Vera dress is very pretty, have you considered ordering a replica dress?  You could try it on and see what you think and if you love it you have plenty of time to have it made. πŸ™‚

I honestly think the one you picked is my favorite, it is really classy and has a very classic shape. I like it πŸ™‚

I say go try on the Vera Wang dress and see if you love it on as much as you do off. I looked back at your older posts and looking at your pics again, you look happier trying on the dress that had the fun skirt. That dress just seemed to have cut you off in a bad place. I think if that would have been fitted further down it would have looked even better. I had the same problem with dresses! I liked the dress you picked also, but I say go with what is going to make your personality and smile come out!!

Based on the model pics, I like your original dress best.  I would go back to DB and try it on again.  Go with your hair and makeup done, and bring shoes and jewelry to try with the dress.  Put a veil on and have someone take pics with a real camera (not a phone).  You may remember why you picked it when you see the complete “look.”

If, after all that, you still regret it, then I think you need to try other stores besides DB. You didn’t say what your budget is, but there are several designers who can deliver “skirt drama” for less than the White by Vera line.  (Mori Lee Blu comes to mind.)  But try to make an up or down decision on your original dress before you start looking at other dresses!

It’s hard to say without seeing you in the dresses. The dress you picked with the sash from dress #2 would be very beautiful and timeless.

#3 is also pretty but it depends how it looks on you.  I’m not a fan of #4 at all. I’ve seen so many brides wear that dress (no offense to any of them) but I saw the dress in person and wasn’t a fan.

Edit: I just saw your other thread with the picture of you in your dress and you look great! It’s very flattering to your curves and looks so elegant πŸ™‚

Honestly…..I never liked that Vera Wang dress. but I’m old what do I know?

I like the first one best and even considered it for myself. I’m sooo over strapless dresses!

Get what makes you feel like a bride. What you invision wearing as you walk down the aisle. πŸ™‚

@PoeticDoveInLA:  you have every right to be picky, it’s your wedding dress, you should feel happy and confident in what you are wearing πŸ™‚ best of luck with the other store!

I think the one you picked will suit your figure the most! I dont think it is plain, rather classic and it means you can go all out with your accessories!

I went to David’s to try on that Vera dress.  I was in LOVE and figured that would be the one I was walking away with.  I tried it on and wasn’t nearly as impressed as I thought I would be.  I was talking with the consultant, and she told me that the Vera tulle dress is the MOST tried on dress in the store, and one of the LEAST purchased dresses in the store.  It is a hanger dress!

As for your dress, have you thought about dressing it up with some jewelry and headpeice/veil?  I think some of the most beautiful brides I have seen have a more simple dress and dramatic accessories.  It then becomes looking at you and NOT the dress.  If it were me, I would take two weeks off of dresses.  Stop looking at them and try to stop thinking about them.  Then when your head is cleared try them on again and see if you are just stressed because you have made your decision and don’t know if it is right, or if you really truly don’t like your dress.

I like the second one best from the pictures – but it would be easier to decide if there were pictures of you in them πŸ™‚
