@Luckygal5571:  Honestly, I FAR prefer your original dress. The “dream dress” looks very OTT and not in (what I think is) a terribly attractive way.

Your dress is beautiful and it looks amazing on you. To be honest, I like it considerably more than the ridiculously expensive one but then again I also hate tulle. You can’t possibly purchase a dress equivalent to the entire cost of your wedding. You’ll be wearing it for like 7 hours MAX. If you want to throw away $4k+, tack it onto your Honeymoon and have an extra awesome time.

If you have the budget for the Angelic dress and it’s what you really want, I’m not going to talk you down. It’s your day and you need to feel your best.

You could also keep your original dress and do a Trash the Dress photo shoot after the wedding and preserve or resale the Angelic.

Much prefer the first one…I always think of how my wedding pictures will look to my kids and I think the first dress will be way more classic.

With a $5000 budget, I really don’t see how you can afford the Kenneth Pool unless you find it second hand / sample sale / chinese knock off…..or get a second and possibly thrid job…….

It is beautiful, and it sucks to be on a budget 🙁

I know your pain.

For me it was photography…..can I really afford a $4500 photographer when my budget was $5 -7000.  And I have only been able to boost my budget to that because I am now working fulltime.  I wanted to book her, I went and spoke with her, I obsessed over it.  But reality hit, I could not book a someone that took up basically ALL my budget.  I would find it very hard to find extra money for the budget and still maintain the lifestyle my children have come to appreciate with day care, ballet and music room.

But for me, the other thing that made it easier to make the decision was some snooty comment she made at the end of the meeting about purposely pricing herself out of children portrait sessions because kids are annoying to work with (and yes I had my two pre school age kids in the room with me)

Hand on heart, while I think the Angelic has wow, I think yours is way more beautiful and classic and won’t date in photos in the same way. That might notbe much consolation if your heart is set on it, but I do genuinely love your original dress and it would be the one that I would choose to wear if presented with the two options. Good luck!

I think your first dress is amazing!!!! It looks so great no you and is a beautiful dress, you got such a great deal on it too! Honestly I dont think the second dress is worth almost 4400 especially for the sample, I think the bottom looks kinda funny, like a big lowridding tutu, but im not a fan of that style. I also think a guy would like the look of first dress better, it just looks more flattering, is elegant and beautiful

I LOVE your first dress, but its your wedding you have to decide if its worth to you and if you really like it that much better then the $200 dress, in my oppinion I say YES to the first dress, its beautiful 🙂

The Kenneth Pool is such a formal dress…do you think it will look right at a Yosemite wedding?

I love Amsale Aberra and her dresses are gorgeous…but I see that dress at a city wedding, not outdoors.

I really like your first dress! It’s classic, timeless and elegant. Now, if you really LOVE the Kenneth Pool dress, then yes, go ahead and buy it. It’s pretty as well (but definitely trendy rather than timeless). Can you actually afford the Kenneth Pool dress or not? Because if you have to borrow money or something then it’s definitely not the dress for you. If it’s a matter of using savings you already have but prefer not to use then yeah..maybe;)

You said your wedding is in Yosemite.  Your first dress matches that perfectly, and it is a beautiful dress.  The Kenneth Pool, not so much.  Considering your budget, I say stick with what you already have.

I like the $99 gown better than the more pricey one. I think it looks amazing on you, and as previously stated, I think it won’t date as much in pictures. Also, it looks like it will be significantly easier to move around in. The Kenneth Pool dress looks heavy to me…

your first dress is beautiful but I can understand why you want the second one

yes it is your wedding day but the reason why you are having a wedding is to be married. You and your Fiance set a budget, hopefully is it a budget you feel comfortable with this dress will blow that budget. Where will you get the money for it.?

Do you want to start off your married life with an extra 5000 dollars in debt, is there something else you can put that 5000 dollars towards that you can rationalize to yourself just how much money that is?

For me my dream dress was 900 dollars over budget that 900 could buy me a full set of Le Cruest pots and pans that I have wanted for a couple of years and also will last a long time. I choose to save towards the pots and pans instead of the dress. 🙂 if you think it out and the dress is worth more to you then anything else then discuss the budget blowing item with your Fiance, if he supports you then go get it and enjoy other wise stick with the dress you have

either way you will look amazing on your wedding day

I think your first dress is so great, and the second one really is just very over the top for a wedding in Yosemite.  Stay with the first one!
