Don’t take it personally at all – bridal consultants are sometimes not the nicest people in the world! I’m a size 2 and I was trying on a dress and saw another girl in an opposite change room trying on a slim fitting trumpet gown that I thought was stunning.  I asked the consultant to try it on and she said that it wouldn’t be flattering but she has a “looser” one that’s similar and may look nicer on me becuase its a “looser” fit so better for my body.  She kept going on about how it would not look good on me, implying that I’m too heavy to wear a dress like that.  I’m a size 2 and she made me feel horrible about myself – size has nothing to do with it, some bridal consultants are just horrible people! I think you look lovely in your gown, it’s shows off your lovely body shape.  But, if you don’t love it, get one that you love.  The last thing you want on your wedding day is to not love your dress.  Good luck!

That dress is beautiful and you are beautiful in it!  I say feed that stupid sales lady fish heads (and I wouldn’t even give her the benefit of calling her a consultant!  Because she obviously is just there to sell!)  Don’t let her bother you, it great!  And By The Way size 6 or 8 or in my opinion over 12 or 14 is not considered “full-figured”!  What an idiot!

Sheesh. I’d be tempted to try and return the dress. Not because it doesn’t suit you, but so you don’t have to give that business any more of your money. What horrible service.

I don’t have a problem being called full-figured myself, because I actually am (size 22-24). But size 6? Give me a freaking break.

To be honest, with your dress I’m not a total fan of the asymetrical skirt-line, and the way the combination of the low waist and sash sort of separates out the stomach area – but that’s not you, it’s the dress.

Other than that, I think the silhouette of the dress is perfect and shows off your lovely hourglass figure (tight-fitting is totally your thing – you don’t need to cover up with a-lines). You rock!

@aicila:  You are a far cry from full figured. Your dress looks amazing on you! I can sympathize with you, I had a consulant at DB tell me I was on the “larger end” of their size run (12-14) and that turned me off from wanting to purchase anything from them. Second store, opposite experience that made me feel much better.

You look great in your dress and you have an amazing figure!

This breaks my heart! What a twisted society that a size 6 is considered Full Figured. I hope that your heart has healed from this woman’s words….

BUT the great news is that you look AMAZING in your dress! It was a great choice, despite that nasty salesperson. Deep breathes. She was crazy. You Are Awesome.

Ok I might be the odd (wo)man out here but I dont think the consultant was being insulting.

You wrote in a comment that you are a 32G bra size,

I would consider that “full figured” she wasnt calling you FAT, she was saying you have a FULL BUST.

I dont see anything wrong with that! I had to order my dress at a size 4, instead of a size 2 because I am a 32Dear Daughter and now the entire dress down to my butt has to be taken in two inches, but the bust fits fine
