Ugh, I keep having this nagging thought in my head about my dress. I feel like it is kind of “bad 70’s prom” and not “bridal” enough for my tastes anymore, so I listed it for sale on recycledbride to see if I could get any nibbles on someone buying it. I have time to find another dress (cutting it close but still time for options) Am I just driving myself crazy? should I keep my dress or look for another?

I’m not a fan of this dress in general and yes, I do think you can find something better. Good luck!

I don’t think it looks like a prom dress at all. But I think it has to be about whether or not you feel comfortable!

I vote for look for another.

If you can look for another do so not because of the dress looks “promish” to you but because it would suck not to be happy with your dress on your day

It’s not my personal taste, but you said yourself that you don’t feel fabulous in it. If that’s the case then definitely the right dress is still out there waiting for you. Good luck!

There is another bride on this site who has this dress, and I think it’s a very pretty dress. I am not a fan of the black sash you have paired with it, however, and I’m thinking it would be more flattering to you if you eliminated one or more of the crinolines that you may have under the top layer of the dress. (I had to do this with my own A-line/ball gown dress, because it just was too big at the bottom otherwise.)

I love the dress sans sash. I think you’re going to have to get a new one though, now that you’re going to read that other people don’t like it. 🙁

No way! Keep it! I love it. I posted a similar thread about having dress regret. When I saw that people didn’t like my dress, I was heartbroken (definitely brought it upon myself by opening up to the public). But then I realized that if I had such strong emotions about people not liking it, that meant that I really did love my dress. Long story short – I’m keeping my dress because I fell in love with it for a reason. And I’m sure you fell in love with yours for a reason too. You can’t make everyone happy, so you might as well make yourself happy. I vote keep it. 🙂

I think it would be lovely without the xl flowers

I don’t see prom dress at all, I really like it! But you do need something that will make you feel confident and beautiful, so you’ll have to weigh that. Good luck!

I think you look lovely! The big flowers do distract the eye a bit though. I voted that you remove them. Also, I don’t know if you are set on your veil already, but I think a longer veil with a bit more pouf to it might help you feel more like a bride.

If you go with that dress definately a longer pouffier veil. But I personally think you should look for another dress, something more feminine, delicate lace maybe!!

I think it’s a very flattering shape. I would remove the 3D flowers, try a blingy sash, and maybe try it without the crinoline slip. I think if you could easily make this your dream dress!

I like the dress. Although, I think it would look better without the flowers.
