The thing that stands out to me most is that ALL the previous posters look GORGEOUS in their new dresses. BEAMING! I think that’s the look you are supposed to have when you find YOUR dress!

@ifheaven:  The first dress is Dominica (Blue by Enzoani). It’s actually a fit and flare/trumpet (it looks like a mermaid in the photo)

@cherryblossomlove:  OMG I love the second one on you – you defintely made the right choice.  I read your other post and you said in that that you are petite in height – but that dress makes you look tall. 

P.S. The dark hair color is also fantastic on you and really suits the dress as well.

@sweetpeony:  That second dress is so gorgeous, and I love the way the jacket frames your beautiful face and chest – so classy and flattering. I am a plus size bride too and that outfit is just inspirational, showing how good someone can look (and hell, I love that your facial expression says that you KNOW how good you look LOL).

@clairebbbear:  Thank you so much! I was so worried that i was going to feel frumpy. A lot of my family members said that i should not wear the bolero because it made me look bigger. I am glad i decided to ignore their comments. I felt so beautiful and confident in how i looked. Thank you so much for your kind words! Have you gone dress shopping yet?

@sweetpeony:  No, and I’m not sure if I’m going to since I’m not looking for a typical bridal dress. I want a blue or red dress so I’ll either be buying an evening or bridesmaids dress online, or (most likely) having something made by a dressmaker. But your dress makes me want to go shopping all of a sudden LOL.

The only thing different about my dress was the first was Taffeta with beading/crystals. The second is lace with a belt. Same designer, same sillouettte. Below are pictures.

I’m a newbee and I love these boards! I’ve been lurking since I got engaged and have felt so comforted by reading others brides’ experiences:)

Totally relate, I had dress regret too and I’m not a wedding-y kind of gal! I bought my first dress right after I got engaged. It was an impulse purchase and I should’ve tried on more dresses. The dress was gorgeous but after I showed my mom, she really didn’t think it flattered me. I realized she was right and I sold it. I initially felt guilty because I lost some money from changing my mind.

After more searching, I eventually found a great tiered dress and put a deposit on it. The dress was nice but it was heavy and stiff. It was my second choice–I’d actually seen a beautiful dress in that store but it was on hold for another bride. Deep down, I wanted a more flowy and romantic dress but I felt guilty about being indecisive so I just told myself to stop thinking about other dresses. 

A week later when I went back to pay the balance of my second dress, I saw my first choice still there. The owner said the other bride changed her mind! The moment I tried it on, I had no doubts. I felt gorgeous–something I didn’t feel when wearing the other two. Thankfully, the owner let me transfer the deposit from the other dress to my current dress. 

I’m so glad I took my time to try on many more dresses because I found a dress I truly love. If I had any advice, it’d be to sleep on it for at least 1 night before putting any money down, don’t feel pressured by anyone to buy a dress you don’t love, and listen to your heart!!!

Third dress, the one I will be wearing and truly love!
