Even though i swore I wouldn’t fall into the dress regret trap, I did and now I’ve bought a new dress. My first needed significant alterations and I just started second thinking the end result and the total cost. So I went to David’s on Saturday and found a new dress that fits 100% perfectly and is only $500!

I liked the older dress better. I think if you took off the straps and had it take in, it would have been stunning on you. HOWEVER, it’s your dress so it’s more important how you feel in the dress than how I feel about it.

Did you purchase the sample dress or did you order a new one? Honestly the sample dress fit me a lot better than mine did, so I had to have some alterations done even though the sample fit me like a glove. I think it’s because so many other brides try it on that it gets a bit stretched. I think with the first dress you could definitely make it fit your body and look great…take off the sleeves, add a belt, take it in…I mean it’s still a gorgeous dress and I actually like it a lot more than the second one. Obviously it’s ultimately your decision, but don’t be surprised if you still need to get alterations done on this new dress.

I much prefer your first dress. No contest. Take in at the bodie and remove the straps and it’s beautiful.
The new one does nothing for your figure and it looks dated to me.

agree with everyone else.. take off the straps of the first dress and get it fitted. the new one does look dated

Definitely an improvement! Your new dress has a lovely modern sensibility and just the right amount of sparkle! Never was much of a fan of lace, myself.

I actually like the second dress! Love the sparkle! And I consider it an improvement if YOU like it better than the first. The only thing I would suggest (if you’re looking for suggestions) would be to modify the neckline of the new dress to remove the fold. Maybe a sweetheart neckline or just a “regular” strapless cut.

I’m torn… I personally like the style of the old dress better, but I love the fit of the second one!

I will never understand why bees want to tell you that your first dress is so much better than the second, especially when you’ve already made up your mind and bought the damn dress!! Same shit happened to me, except they were bitchier about it lol. Don’t let them make you second guess yourself again. Go with the one you love and makes you the happiest!

I like the first one better. The second one’s top looks really outdated to me. You probably could have altered the first one for less than $500 you spent on the new one…

Well if you look at her last line, she asked “Improvement?” and people gave her their honest opinion in a nice way…

I’m not loving the V on the waistline. See if a seamstress can remove it, thus making your second gown more modern. Otherwise it fits better than the first one.

I am answering honestly because you asked. The first dress, even if altered, is a huge MEH. It’s very “old” looking and fussy. The second dress is absolutely stunning and regal on you. I’d grab the 2nd dress and sell the first one.
