I think the dress is gorgeous as is..but it you want to make a change you could change the colour of the ribbon or put a belt on instead?

I love the strapless look on this dress, i would say no to a strap. However, i do agree with taking the bow off, im not a fan…if you dont like the puff in the skirt see if you can take out some of the layers of tulle. otherwise this dress is very pretty!

I love that dress.  If you want to add a different sash it would completely change the look, not crazy about adding straps to it, I love the top the way it is.

I love how the dress looks strapless… and I’ve been told if you have the right undergarments, the dress will stay up better. I’m not sure on that, just something I’ve been told…

But also, would replacing the sash with something like this help?

I wouldn’t add straps – it would take away from the lovely neckline. If you really dislike the bow you could get rid of it, but I think you should leave the main part of the ribbon that goes around the waist – it’s a really nice accent.

I think the dress is gorgeous!  I like the idea of changing the sash.

It’s lovely.  Everytime I had doubts, I put it on again and it has made me remember the reason I chose it.

I think that dress is beautiful as is.  Is there a chance maybe you’re reading too much into your MIL’s comment because of your past relationship?  There is nothing scandalous, inappropriate, or even questionable about this dress; therefore, her statement of “It looks like you” doesn’t strike me as being a condescending or snarky comment.  Maybe she is just being honest and saying that the dress is beautiful and fits your personality.   It sounds as though you really liked the dress before you talked to your Future Mother-In-Law so why don’t you choose to believe that her comment was genuine and stay with the dress you originally loved?

I have been agonizing over my dress that I bought, so I went back to the salon and tried it on and that helped ease my mind a lot.

@futurebauer:  You could get a little bolero to wear with it.   But some cap sleeves would be pretty with it too.

I’m not one for bows, so I would say take it off.  But it’s beautiful and trust me I’ve been doing this yo yo thing with my dress too, I tried it on 2 nights ago and hated it, then I tried it on tonight and loved it!  Just remember you picked it for a reason and it looks great on you!
