Do you have a picture of you in your dress?

To me, both dresses look very similar (same shape, straps, deep v in the front), your dress has a more intersting back than the Regan dress. Both beautiful gowns, the one you purchased is lovely.

brideinthesix:  I agree. The only difference I’m seeing is the transition from bodice to skirt otherwise they look exactly the same to me. I don’t think the difference is enough to switch dresses and lose money on.

Your dress looks fantastic on you! Just wait until you get all made up and put it on!

Those dresses are very similar and I think the one you bought looks beautiful on you. May I ask what it is exactly that you don’t like about it?

Your dress is beautiful, flattering, and classy.  I don’t think the lace pattern looks too young on the back.  It’s a classic dress.

Yes you are being crazy (sorry ). You look beautiful and your dress is beautiful and the dress you are now lusting after looks extremely similar to the already gorgeous dress you own. The back of your dress is exquisite (the front is pretty damn good too). You are overthinking this.

Have you tried wearing your hair up? I think you look great, but the “young” feeling you are having might be eleviated if you try an updo, or a tight side pony tail. I think it’s hard sometimes to be happy with dresses when we try them on in a store because you’re not totally done up — you’re wearing your every day hair, and then trying on this super fancy dress.

If you’re really wondering and doubting, and there’s no money issue, you could try on the Reagan. If it makes you feel more grownup, great. Before, though, I would ask the alterations if lowering the back on your gown is possible, and how much it would cost.

owlette22:  Since you can afford, order the backup to put your mind at ease. If you don’t like your current dress, there’s nothing anybody can tell you to change your mind.

But I do think your current dress is gorgeous. And the PP that said you might change your mind when all dolled up is right. It can really make a difference.

So order the other dress and try them both on with makeup, hair, jewelry, etc. and see how you feel.
