I purchased my dress about 2 months ago for my May 2013 wedding. It was the first dress I tried on and really loved it at the salon. I tried probably 12 others on after to be sure.. and this was the one I bought. Looking at these pictures now, I’m not sure I made the right choice. I have 2 friends also engaged and they sent me pics of their dresses which made me love my dress a little (maybe a lot) less in comparison. :/
These pics arent’ the best, but you get the idea. Please be honest. I won’t see the dress until it comes in around February. I’ve already paid for it, but I’d be willing to look at other dresses. Honestly what do you think of this dress?!?! I’m afraid I might have been rash in making my decision… PS – I have no idea if I’m doing a sash or the veil in the pic.. that was just the consultant throwing things on me..
I’m not looking for compliments here. Please be HONEST!!!

Honestly? I think it looks wonderful. I am not a fan of the sash tho. What kind of dresses do your friends have that made you change your mind?

@AlliMayWedding: I think it’s beautiful!!! (i’m being honest here) what don’t you like? WHat’s missing for you?

I think it’s lovely on you!

Style is such a personal thing, only you can decide on that one in terms of plain vs lace, beading vs simple, etc. Personally, I like the style. And I think it fit great and is flattering on you.

Honestly, I really love the dress on you. I have to say, I was doing the same dance when it came to my dress as well. The pictures I have were a bit blurry (iPhone pictures) which made me question my choice as well!
I love the detail in the front and the back beading. One thing I will say is that it does need a belt of some sort. Im thinking like a beaded 2-2.5 inch belt to really make the rest of the beading POP on the dress. I think the dress really compliments your body and shows off a awesome hourglass bod.
If I were you I would do what I did. I went back to the salon to find a veil and I tried the dress on again and walking out and seeing my moms face just falling in love with the dress again and then seeing myself again made all the difference in reassuring that I made the right choice. Go back and tell them you are looking for accessories with the dress so they dont give you a problem for asking to try it on again, if they do.

My friend’s dresses have more detail and I feel like mine is just blah/bland in comparison. I’ve always thought of my style as being very simple/classic/elegant/timeless.. but I think the dress may just come across as boring instead.
I’m not doing the sash because I think it clashes with the rhinestone detail on the hip. I feel like even with a veil and jewelery, I will still look boring and “unfinished”. I feel like it needs something else… just not sure what.

@AlliMayWedding: I think it’s really pretty, but I wouldn’t put the sash on.
Like I tell every bride who posts about dress regret, please realize that this is a dress you will be wearing for a few hours. Do you really want to spend more money that could go towards a house, car, nice trip when you’ve got a perfectly lovely dress?
I think it’s normal to second guess yourself and have a bit of buyer’s remorse for a big purchase like this, but you look great.
You’re marrying the guy you love and he’d think you’re beautiful in a potato sack!
Unless you have a lot of money to burn, then I’d stick with your original choice. There will always be a better, pricier, more perfect dress out there… but why torture yourself?!

I mean it’s a beautiful dress, and it gives you a great shape. You can play around with alterations, sashes, and embelishments if there’s still something missing. You just have to figure what exactly it is about the dress thats making you think twice. What do you like in your friends dresses that you dont see in yours?

At first, I wasn’t sure. But then I saw the pic of the dress with the sash and it transformed it. I love it with the sash. I am not really a fan of drop waste dresses so that may be why I didn’t care for the first picture, but honestly, the dress fits you great and looks amazing.

I love it. The train is to die for! *swoon* I prefer it without the sash – that little embellishment on the hip is all you need. I adore it!
