I am in a similar position at the moment. .. I love my dress but really want a detachable train which is appatently a wedding dress faux pas lol

I had a similar experience.

I actually returned my first dress for something different. I really loved the second dress when I got it, but in alterations I think they made some mistakes that were glaring to me. After that I was only “happy” with my dress but there wasn’t time to replace it (and did I really want to be the girl with three dresses?!). I also was still lusting over another dress I had tried on but was out of budget. Add to that the fact I only shopped for one day as my mom came with me and could only come once, so I felt like I settled. I never tried on lace or a mermaid or anything other than alines.

But! On the day of the wedding as soon as I put on my dress and have hair and makeup done, I knew I made the right choice! It was the perfect dress for the wedding we had- on the beach, very low key.

I do want to have a 10 year vow renewel and will splurge on that one 😉

Op your dress is gorgeous! You made the right choice!!

skylar84:  I just wanted to say that you looked absolutely stunning on your wedding day!

I too am feeling a little bit of dress regret… I ordered my dress (Mori Lee 2713) 13 months ahead of my wedding date which might seem crazily early, but at that point it felt like I’d visited so many bridal boutiques and tried on so many wedding dresses that I was ready to pick just about anything! I do love the dress I chose (especially on the model, although she is everything I’m not – tall, willowy and blonde!) and it did make my mum cry when she saw me in it… But when my actual dress arrived in December it was a little too snug and I felt meh about it. My dress didn’t look as flattering (to me) as the sample did. Even the bridal boutique assistants didn’t seem too enthusiastic about it! I was expecting them to fawn all over me and pop open the champagne (I’ve obviously been watching too much SYTTD!)… But nothing. So that planted a little seed of doubt in my mind straight away. I know that with losing a few pounds and toning up my dress WILL fit, and that having my hair and makeup done will make a huge difference to the overall look, but still I can’t help but feel like I chose the wrong dress. However, after hearing your story and seeing your pictures (I can’t wait to see more of your pro pics by the way!) I feel a little more positive – so thank you!

this post couldn’t have come at a better time! I just purchased my dress yesterday and I’m absolutely freaking out over whether I made the right choice, right colour, etc. And it’s so refreshing to know I’m not a “crazy bride”, or if I am that im not the only one lol
