I think once you remove the appliques and alter the sash, the dress will be absolutely beautiful! I would move forward with this one.

Maybe you don’t love it because it hasn’t been altered yet? It’s a very pretty dress, but you have to love what you walk down in.

@CanadianBride456:  I agree. I would also remove the applique and change the sash. I think it looks great and will look even better once it’s altered.

I think once those changes are made and it’s altered, it’ll be your dream dress 🙂

Remember too that typically when they take in your dress its done in multiple appts so it will fit perfectly by the date of the wedding… but not until then in case your size changes any more!

I’d speak with the seamstress there before deciding what to do with it. Many times a dress can be altered down only so much without losing many of the things that make it the style and shape it already is. We were told 1 size was easy, but anymore throws off the ‘line’ of the dress and it may not drape as nicely.

I was having my dress repinned and sewn the very night before my wedding and barely got it in time. It was still somewhat loose throughout the night, and in some pictures it looked like it would be down at my waist any minute. It happens.

@smv22114:  firstly based on your first picture how is it possible you need to lose a total of 42lbs?! Your figure looks amazing there don’t loose your beautiful curves, I always get sad when I see my friends with their skinny chest bones sticking out on their wedding day! It does not look good!

i think that dress is stunning on your previous figure! rem 40lbs will seriously change your shape so maybe you feel that particular dress won’t suit your new shape.

I think your dress is beautiful and you look amazing in it. You obviously really liked the dress to begin with, which is why you bought it. It sounds like the weight loss has just made it fit differently, which I am sure can fixed by an awesome seamstress. Hope it all works out. 🙂

Where are you going to lose another 30 lbs from?!? You definitely don’t need to. You have a great body now!
