I got engaged in July 2013 and bought a dress on my first trip shopping in August. It’s a beautiful dress and I had a great experience at the salon.
BUT … now I have dress regret! My dress is beautiful and fits my body really well. But I have a few problems with it as a wedding dress.
A) It’s champagne. That’s a great colour on me but it’s NOT a white wedding dress – which I realize now I want.
B) It’s A-line. It’s very flattering on me – but I’ve worn dresses that big before. For my wedding I want something more … big. Something I could never get away with wearing any other day.
C) It’s kind of plain. I love the beading at the sweetheart neckline and the bottom of the train, but other than that I find it very plain. I feel like it’s not enough WOW.
Here’s my current dress. Front.
The dresses I’m considering now.
This was the original dress I always wanted to try on, but the salon I went to didn’t have it. I tried it on last weekend and it looked exactly like I thought it would. So great and felt amazing; Cinched in my waist, poufed out at the skirt. Classic. Perfect. (It wasn’t in my size at the salon, so it would have required a bunch of hands to hold in place. This picture shows how it looked on my body without all the hands).
The Fit and Flare.
For something totally different, I tried on this dramatic Fit and Flare. I’m a curvy size 16, but I liked how this dress showed my hourglass figure (which my Fiance loves) and had so much drama at the bottom. And the view from the back?!!? That’s a WOW factor!
I’d love to know what the Bee thinks. Am I crazy?
Should I keep my original dress – even though it doesn’t make me feel like a bride?
Should I get the Ballgown I always had in my head?
Should I go for the dramatic Fit and Flare and show off my curves for my FI?
Could I wear the Fit and Flare for the ceremony and switch to the original dress for the reception?
