Thank you guys! I really appreciate it, you have made me feel much better.
The sample was clipped very well and this is a little loose and needs to be taken in a bit, so hopefully after alterations and after it is steamed it will look more flowy like it did before 🙂

I think you’re looking at it too much! It’s gorgeous on you…and only you would be able to judge the “feel” of the dress…but the look of the dress is amazing. You should not be having any regret!!! I think when you steam it the day of, it’ll soften to your liking.

I agree with @EsqBailey:
the original dress was just too long for you and the one you currently have is the proper length. It looks great. Don’t stress

The first picture the dress is longer (too long) which is why it looks more flowy, even if your dress came in that way they would have had to alter it because you couldn’t have it dragging on the floor.

this dress is amazing and it looks so perfect on you 🙂

Could be that the bottom part just isn’t fluffed out enough since it’s brand new, compared to the sample you tried on in stores? Hopefully, it’s not anything else and will look great after being fluffed out a bit.
Btw, I ordered this exact dress! My wedding isn’t until June of ’13 but figured I’d get ahead of the game and get my dress now.. Is the sample you tried on the ivory color by any chance? Because I ordered mine in ivory and am starting to freak out that it’ll be too “yellow” .. /=

I tried on this Kitty Chen dress and my sample looked like #2 (your real dress) than the sample dress you wore in that it looked more ballgown-ish. Your sample dress looked like it was too long on you and therefore spreads out more because it is dragging on the ground. The material was really soft on this dress, so I think with a little steam it would be easy to manipulate to the soft flowly look you want. And you can take it in more around your thighs.
Either way it looks great on you! This is a beautiful dress and I especially loved how surprisingly lightweight it felt when worn!

I tried on the ivory color and really liked it. It’s a pretty white colored ivory so I wouldn’t worry. My consultant said soft fabric like organza and chiffon actually looks best in ivory (and is the more popular color)

I think it’s just the block you are standing on. They always make the dresses look different to me, especially if you are already somewhat tall. I didn’t even bother standing on that ridiculous thing. I think your dress was flowier beacuse it was touching the ground rather than hanging in mid air. You look beautiful!

Thanks for the reassurance! I’m getting more and more excited now.. can’t wait for my dress to come in! Yay! (=

It does look slightly more structured in the second picture, but I think a lot of people find that to be the case with tulle. The sample gown has been through a lot, and yours is brand new! Maybe let it hang out for a few days? Also, like some of the PP’s suggested, after it’s steamed it will probably look softer.

Love it – calm down you look awesome!

looks the same to me, try fluffing it out a little? Samples are out for a long time, so they may be more “fluffed” out…don’t worry too much, you look lovely!
