You’ve been having dress regret for over a month.  Can you afford a new dress without selling the first one?  I’m not sure you’re going to find an easy time selling the dress for close to what you paid for it, since I know you added pickups.  I think adding the pickups is what I dislike about the dress.  I bet if you took the pickups out and made it a sweetheart neckline, that dress would look completely different on you – why don’t you try that before you buy a new dress since I doubt you’ll be able to sell it with the added pickups anyway?

@whitecrayon101:  If that’s the case, then I suggest going shopping again.  The second dress is nice, but I think that if you’ve been having dress regret for a month now, you wouldn’t keep questioning whether to keep the dress if you have the option to get a new one if you REALLY LOVED the new one, too.  Does that make sense?

@whitecrayon101:  I think they are both nice, maybe you should do a “trail run” of the way you want to look on your wedding.  That way you can get a feel of how the whole look will come together in both dresses.

Honestly, neither dress really makes me say, “Wow!” (Of course, the most important thing is what you like and how you feel about the dress … My opinion won’t matter much in the long run.)

I will say, though, that if you’ve been questioning your initial choice for so long and aren’t 100% sold on this other dress, you may find yourself in this very same position in another month or two. I would suggest trying on a few more dresses (maybe some more romantic, flowy options that look a little more like “beach wedding” gowns). You definitely don’t want to overwhelm yourself with too many options, but you also definitely don’t want to feel like you “settled.”

I don’t ever like telling a bride that I think she should not wear a dress that she’s already purchased and that she should purchase a new one.  However, in my opinion, the second dress is a better choice.

The first dress has a lot of texture and competing elements.  The second dress is more elegant and has cleaner lines.

If it helps to know, I had dress regret, too, but I did not have time to order a new dress, and I refused to spend the resources to get another one even if I could find one, because I had been engaged another time many years before, and I did not want to end up with TWO dresses that I bought and never wore. Since that is not the case with you, and you can afford to make the change even if you are unable to sell the first dress, I would say wear the dress that you really want to wear.

If you are having Beach wedding then i would say keep looking.. The materials on these two may be too heavy for a beach wedding..

The first dress is similar to the second, except for the pick-ups and neckline. The good news is those are things which can be easily altered! Have you thought about seeing a seamstress?

I can tell you exactly what i dislike about dress one. I prefer a dress with a deeper sweetheart, I feel like the second dress’s neckline is much more flattering. You could probably alter the dress you have to give it a deeper neckline.
