I posted here a few months ago about my dress regret… I had kinda rushed and bought my dress a few months after getting engaged, and we didn’t even know where we were getting married. Well, that was six months ago… I’ve felt regret ever since. We are getting married in a big church, and that dress was just too small, too short of a train, and didn’t fit very well. I was going to have to add in a corset, and alterations were going to cost around 300-400 dollars. The dress itself was 299. So I started searching. My future MIL and SIL were kinda judgemental, but I decided it was my day and it was up to me and about what I wanted. I AM SO HAPPY! They were all about the money but my day isn’t limited to money.
I didn’t like that it didn’t have a corset, the train was too short, and the bottom was too small and boring. SOO…
HERE is the dress I bought in January:
Pretty, but not wowing me. Not me, the girl who dressed up like a princess, wearing lace gloves and dresses in the middle of winter when I was a kid:
And HERE is the dress I bought today, the Private Label by G 1462!!
The dress was originally $1000, but I bought the sample for $500 and my mom paid $100 so I got it for $400, and then the tiara headpiece was originally $200 something, but two jewels were missing. They were symmetrical, so you can’t even really tell… I got it for $40!! Plus it fits like a GLOVE with the corset, so all I have to do is put in cups, bustle, and then steam and MAYBE a hem (although with my heels and maybe fluff out the slip a little and it’ll be fine!) I’m so happy and I LOVE my Private Label by G 1462!! 😀 I feel like a beautiful and sexy princess :)AHHH!! So glad I went shopping!! 😀 😀

Love the new dress. With the dropped waist of both of them, the fuller skirt looks so much more flattering on your body.

WOOT! THAT is so much prettier than your origional. Good job!

@fivemonthsnotice: AHH thank you!! I feel like it’s 100% better than my original too! I’m going to sell it, it’s beautiful but just not for me. Sometimes dress regret can be overcome, but other times it just is better if you shop around a little more 🙂
@mrsSonthebeach: I loved the dropped waist too! I tried on another tulle ballgown, but the dropped waist is soo much more regal. Feels more like a full a-line than a huge ballgown with the dropped waist 🙂
THANKS! It’s a wonderful feeling when you’ve found the one… oh yeah, finding the right dress is great too 😉

@vandhaug2011: Yeah sales are AWESOME. Love em. Especially 50% off haha!
@Merelymere: Aww thank you, that’s good to hear. My FILs were judgemental of me at first, but after they saw it nobody has yet said I made the wrong decision.
I’m also thinking of trying it with a smaller crinoline (like the one I bought for my first dress), just to see what it looks like. It looks a lot smaller in the stock photos than it does when I tried it on with a huge crinoline haha. In LOVE still either way, no more regret 🙂

@ifheaven: Thanks!! I love corset backs and was planning on adding one to my old dress, which drove up the massive alteration costs, I was so happy to find a dress with a corset already 🙂
