So Im begining to think I hate my dress for several reasons. I LOVED it when I first tried it on, but after alterations I feel like it has lost that special feeling!
When I bought it-
I am Mormon, and normally would have added cap sleeves to my dressto make it more modest , but I had already paid $300 for my alterations, and since we are getting married civilly first I dont HAVE to have sleeves. People will probably say things but my fiance and I decided that the straps were modest enough.
I think I really dont like how much fabric had to get cut off for the hem, because it made the dress look disproportinate on me since Im so short (5’2). And the straps make my shoulders look bulky and weird.
I also decided I hated my headpiece, but recently found a new, perfect one.
(Pardon the ring sizer in the picture…)
Any ideas for making me like it better? I have no $ or time to get a new dress. Feeling really upset 🙁

That dress looks amazing on you! The only thing I think the picture is lacking is a necklace! But if I were you, I would feel absolutely no regret whatsoever.

Your dress looks lovely, and I definitely don’t think you look disproportionate at all. If you’re worried about the straps not being enough coverage, go on amazon and order a cute lace bolero, so you have the option of covering up a little more. If you have prime/get two day shipping, it’ll definitely arrive in time for your wedding!
Something like this would be cute:

Dress regret is unfortunately waaay too common!
It’s a lovely dress.
That being said, you’re not stuck – you’re never stuck.
Does the store you bought it at allow for in store credit?
I have no shame being a bit of a brat and changing my dress out, lol.

I saw your dress on the thread for dresses with sleves and I was totally drooling over it. It is stunning and fits you like a glove.

Ms.Pie: I have an appointment to try on this exact dress on Saturday!!! I’m so excited to see it on a real bride and you look gorgeous! I really think it was a good call skipping the cap sleeves.
It’s hard to say what I would do to jazz it up without knowing your style or what is appropriate at a mormon wedding. Personally, I think the hair and makeup is what will make this dress. Are you able to keep your hair down and big and curly? That would look amazing with your headpeice!
