I went dress shopping with friends and got caught up in their praises of a sample dress that was 50% off. I placed a deposit and the balance is due in a week. However, I can’t get my mind off another dress I tried and that my fiance recently told me he loves (showed him pics of the other dresses I tried on once i placed the deposit ) …He’s expressed that he prefers more simple dresses. He feels they keep the focus on the woman as opposed to the dress. I went back to the bridal shop to see if I could find another dress I liked to transfer my deposit to. Unfortunately, in that particular shop there was nothing that I liked more . I’m looking for advice. What should I do now?
Here’s the dress I have a deposit on:
Here’s the dress I want:

I remember a previous post where you asked which dress we liked better and I think the majority said dress #2 looks the best on you. It flatters your figure in so many ways. Go with that one.
How much of a deposit (percentage) did you put down on dress #1?

I’m a big proponent of wearing your dream dress, after all it IS your wedding! But I voted for the one you already bought because it is beautiful!! It doesn’t look drastically different from the simpler one and the shape looks amazing on you. It also doesn’t look like it takes the focus off of you at all. It’s very flattering and feminine!

Dress #2 looks like a breath of fresh air!! I’m sure your fiance will love whichever dress you choose 🙂 Go with what your heart desires

Get what makes you happy! Forfeit that money in the name of being happy and feeling great about they way you look on your wedding day.

DO YOU SEE WHAT DRESS #1 LOOKS LIKE ON YOUR GORGEOUS BODY? incredible. Seriosuly you look incredible in the first dress.

I prefer how dress #1 looks, both on you and in and of itself. That said.. it doesn’t even matter what i think. Do what makes you happy!
Depending how big your deposit was, you might be better off selling the dress vs. walking away. You can always post stock photos on used wedding dress sites (and let people know it’s so unaltered and new it hasn’t even arrived yet!) and see if anyone bites…

Girl are you mad?
The first dress is absolutely not distracting from how FLIPPING GORGEOUS you look. I would stay with your first dress simply based on the fact how it emphasizes your body shape and flatters you. It’s your dress, of course, and you have the freedom to do as you feel more comfortable, but in all seriousness that dress is such a keeper.

I like dress #1 better, but it seems like everyone likes both dresses. How much would you lose for the deposit? Could that money go toward your veil/bridesmaid dresses, etc?

Honestly, I absolutely love the first dress it is stunning on you. However if you really feel it is not the dress for you I think the most reasonable option would be to try and sell it so as not to lose a ridiculous amount of money.

The deposit was approximately half.
We don’t have a bridal party, and I’m using an old veil…plus I only have until next weekend to use the deposit. Thought of having my mom use it towards her dress, but she can’t travel up here before next weekend.

I think Dress 1 is just way nicer and more special than Dress 2. Get what makes you feel good though, this is just the opinion you asked for!

Both dresses are beautiful, and only you can decide what is right for you, but the first dress makes you look AMAZING. I find it more flattering than the second.

i think dress 1 is waaaay more gorgeous on you.

Another vote for dress 1. It is still pretty simple but definitely has a “vavavoom” flavor to it.
