They’re both lovely in you, but I prefer the one with the bling, the ballgown. That’s your original dress, right? It’s much more spectacular than the mermaid, which seems pretty plain to me.

I love the one on the right. The one on the left looks very “generic bridal” to me. I think your shape in the waist is more feminine on the right, and very flattering where it poufs out!

At least in the picture you don’t look swallowed up to me. 🙂 I do agree with others, your original one is more unique and is a lovely gown.

That said, you do look quite good in both, so if you want the shape of the one on the left, that certainly wouldn’t be a bad choice. Just make sure to get something more unique than the one in the pic (which sounds like your plan anyway).

Do you already own/have this dress? Is there a way of speaking to a seamstress and seeing if you can do some alterations? No idea if it could be done, but maybe there could be a happy medium without having to get a whole new dress.

@tash2306:  I agree with the suggestion to seek advice from a good seamstress. I wonder if there s a way to alter your dress into a mermaid/fit and flare shape. It sounds like that’s your main concern, so maybe making your existing dress less voluminous and more shapely is a good option, before you give up on it.
