I would not go shopping again.  I think that would just encourage more looking… when does it stop.  Perhaps post a photo?  the bees are great about giving feedback.

What is it about the dress that is making you second guess your choice?

i had dress regret. i tried to push it away for many months, but it just got stronger.  finally i decided i will advertise my dress and start looking and take it from there. well it was fate that the same week i sold my dress i also found my dream dress!  i got the money through paypal in time to buyt the new one.  so i dont think it hurts to look. or advertise. you dont have to commit to anything.

but also think about why u have regret, what you dont like it about, etc. i had dress regret because i thought i had to get a certain type of dress for the beach. and i bought one after going to one store bymyself. it was the best dress in the store. i bought it impulsively because i was on a one day trip to NYC.  So i KNEW i would probably not have picked it had i been to several stores and had other people’s opinions and even just took a few days to think about it – all things i did the second time around.

I had it and cried.  I called the bridal store 6 days later and they wouldn’t let me cancel the dress.  I did end up buying a different dress.  The first dress was beautiful and would have been fine.  The second dress is amazing too.  Looking back at how much money I spent I wish I hadn’t bought the second dress.  The first one would have been fine and kinder to my pocketbook.

I think dress regret happens because buying a wedding dress and imagining how you will look on your wedding day is exciting.  Once you have the dress you feel like, wow, that happened so fast…am I sure I looked at all my options and is it the one??

Go try your dress on again.  Take accessories.  It will help.

I had dress regret when my gown arrived. I was LITERALLY in tears . I mostly didn’t like the fit. Well, it turns out I just needed the right undergarments and the shoes, etc. and when I found that I fell in love again. I wore it on my wedding day and am SO happy I did. But, since you have time and it sounds like the money and you really don’t like it you can still change as other ladies have done. It’s very common to feel this way!

If you can afford to get a new dress, then go shopping again. I had dress regrets and ended up getting a second dress that I’m absolutely in love with. But if buying another dress is not an option, DO NOT go shopping again just to try to validate your purchase. It would only make your regrets worse if you find something you like more.

I found a dress online that I adored really early on in planning. It wasn’t within my reach so I just put it out of my mind and chose something else.

I loved the dress I ended up with but I still wonder if I’d had the courage to try the China route how it would have turned out. *sigh* guess I’ll never know.

You look soooooooo amaaaaazing!!!! I love it! Seriously love it!!!! You should seriously read my dress regret story. I wrote several posts pretty much going back and forth with my dress regret. I finally decided that I didn’t like it because it wasn’t fitting properly or altered properly so I took it someplace else where I fell in love with it again after all the fixes they did.

I did go look at other dresses after I bought mine and had the regret. I found one that I really loved but it really wasn’t much of a different shape than the one I bought. I also tried on dresses again right before deciding if I wanted to fix the alts on my dress at the new store and I kept going back to my original dress. I feel so beautiful and special when I am actually wearing the dress and looking in the mirror.  It is when I look at the pictures that I do not feel the same way. The thing is, the lighting is always awful in those stores with cameras and my hair and makeup never look very good.

Try to remember the feeling that you get when you are in that dress. Also, I think about how great my hair and makeup will look and how much I will be glowing on my wedding day and I think that this helps alot. One bee on here wrote a really great post on getting over her dress regret and loving her dress the day of and that helped me alot. I am going to try and find that and post back on here for you.

You look truly amazing!
