this is my first post :), I bought my dress 18 months ago , we have just moved our date again to 2022, by the time we get married I’ll have had my dress for 3 and a half years , I’m starting to go off the dress , is anyone else having similar thoughts? There is a picture , it is too long and will need to be altered.

First off, I LOVE your dress.
Secondly, with wedding dress styles changing so quickly, it makes total sense that you may be leaning towards a different style now. What is the return / exchange policy on your dress? Maybe you can try on different styles from the same boutique if they will allow an exchange?

Oh my gosh that dress is GORGEOUS. It looks so good on you too! Absolute classic.

thank you , I loved the dress at the time and felt amazing in it but the doubts set in a few weeks after and now 18months down the line with another 18 to go , I just don’t know. The dress is off the peg so I can’t return it either

That dress is timeless. You could get married 30 years from now and it would still be stunning!

btw, the skirt to my dress was similar, and it photographed so beautifully, especially on the dance floor.

Bee your dress is STUNNING! Classic, timeless, elegant, flattering. 11/10.
I would suggest to just stop looking at pics of your dress, or any dress for that matter. Just totally put your dress to the back of your mind until much closer to the wedding. The more you look at it, the more you’re gonna give your brain a reason to pick at it and second guess. But when you look at it closer to the wedding when emotions are high and you’re excited and thinking about the day visualizing yourself walking down the aisle in this dress, I’m sure you’ll love it just as much as when you first bought it.

@bee8756: Just wanted to say I LOVE you dress!! Perhaps, as some others have suggested, put it out of your mind for a bit and revisit closer to your new date? You might fall in love with it all over again. It is hard when have so much time to re-think things!

Also just chiming in to say the only word that comes to mind is positively stunning. That dress looks like it was made for you!! Agree with others that you shouldn’t look at it or other dresses for a while, you do start to fixate and it can lead to the thoughts and feelings you’re having now.
What other kinds of styles are you drawn to? Any chance you’d want to buy a 2nd dress and do a change? The upside to 18 more months is 18 more months to save… lol.

Thank you all for your lovely words, I’m going to take the advice and stop looking / worrying about it and try it on again nearer the time and see how I feel about it.

It’s a gorgeous dress, looks amazing on you and won’t date – I’d advise putting it away and not looking at it, or photos of it until it’s time to get it altered. The problem with weddings being postponed is that all the work is done, and there’s nothing to do but wait for the new date to roll round, so the temptation is to keep shopping and reworking the look of the wedding. So try to find something else to fill your time for the next 18 months, and I reckon you’ll love your dress all over again when you come to look at it after a long break.

I really love your dress bee! I agree that it looks timeless and I’m sure will still be just as lovely in another 18 months
