I made the #1 biggest mistake…tried on a dress that was not in my price range. Ended up falling love with it, and bought it…it will in, in about 2 months and while I do love the dress I do regret spending thousands more than I would have (that’s right thousands).
Anyone else have the same problem?
I attached a pic of me in the dress.

Not in that boat, but maybe to even budget things out, you could resell it after the wedding?

I have considered it, but since I am spending so much on it, I’d like to keep it (although I don’t know if anyone will be able to wear it again – I’m very petite)
Thanks for the suggestion though!

Could find similiar for less and more affordable?
Could resale to make up the difference?
Lots of options, but most of all if you can afford to go over the budget by alot then go for it, if you can’t and it would financially hurt you, I would look for another option.

No, sale is final and deposit was already made. I can afford it, doesn’t hurt financially or anything, I just didn’t think I would spend that much on a dress. I feel so guilty!!!

if it’s not hurting you financially then I say rock the dress you love! So you spent more than you thought… I think most of us do, as long as it’s within your means then I don’t see anything wrong. 🙂

Wow. You look STUNNING in that dress!

If you recall, I bought the sister dress to yours…
I felt a little bit of guilt at first too because the dress was 2x the price of the first dress I ordered (and later cancelled, losing the entire deposit). I had the money and figured “you only get married once” (hopefully) so why not?
Also, I know how popular Lazaro dresses are and they have a pretty good chance of being sold should you decide to sell later on.
I too am petite (5’2″ in flats) but will be looking for 5 inch heels (well, 5 inch with a platform so that it’s more like a wearing 3.5 inch). I havent decided whether to sell the dress yet but I have already had people on this board email me asking whether I am interested in selling! I figure I’ll get the higher heel shoe so that IF I do decide to sell, I’ll have a larger group of potential brides who it will work for.
At this point you are too close to the wedding and you will lose the deposit if you cancel (which is like throwing money away) so my advice is to just make peace with what’s been done. You cant change the past and obsessing over it or beating yourself up will serve no purpose.
Good luck 🙂

Yes! I do remember you as the sister dress…I was asking about hair accessories. I think now that I am in the waiting period, I just feel so guilty. But even my parents have said “You only get married once!”
Thanks, feel a little better 🙂
