- Wedding: August 2012
I always wanted a champagne coloured dress, wasnt bothered too much about the fabric, but as my wedding was August then maybe Taffeta…..it would be cooer to wear….
Anyway trying to save money I ordered a dress from Ebay/China……When it arrived it was very orangy/peachy coloured. Nicely made and lovely style but I couldnt live with that colour.
I tried again and ordered Champagne….from ANOTHER Ebay/China seller…..thinking I cant possisbly have bad luck twice in a row……how wrong I was. this one was hideous…it was 3 sizes too big……covered in sticky diamond things…..and it was WHITE!
By the time all this had happened my date was drawing closer and I was left with just 4 weeks to go and still no dress…..
I was walking past a bridal shop and told myself i HAD to go in to see if I COULD afford a dress from there…..I had to have one after all…
the shop was just putting 50% sale posters on the wall…!
and I asked her for a Champagne coloured dress in my size….she shook her head and said she didnt think there was any, BUT she had been on leave and wasnt sure…..
then I saw it!
My colour….my size…..and DEFINATELT my price. it had been reduced from £700 to £249
I tried it on and it needed no alterations whatsoever……so I paid for it and took it home the same day.
I loved my dress….and so did everyone else….
My message here is, although I didnt think I could afford the dress of my dreams, I kept ordering from China THINKING thats what I would get, and even though I ordered 2 I still didnt get what I was looking for, and I lost money rather than saved it……how difficult can it be to buy a Champagne coloured dress ??? and in the end the dress came from our local bridal shop……maybe its worth just looking there first before ordering?
I have seen some amazing China dresses, but for me it just didnt happen.
