I think your dress is very pretty, simple but still girly, but I know at the store I purchased at I was considering buying a dress that they only had in a really small sample size so I asked them what I could do if it came in and didn’t look right, and they said they would just add that dress to their floor samples/sale and I could have store credit to another dress.  Maybe your store would do the same?

You could also do a long veil with lace edges or some bling!

Ok I think it looks great but I know that it not what matters. It needs to be what you have dreamed of

My suggestion….try to find a used dress  that you love. I kow you cannot afford to buy a new dress…but what about a used one?  And youknow…use brides we wear them for only a day…so there are all in good shape

I would suggest looking at bravobride.com and wb. and ebay and craigslist and the knot.   Maybe your dream dress is out there. And maybe if it’s kidna cheap then it isn’t that bug if a risk to buy it online and get a 2nd dress.

Good luck!

I hate that you feel this way. Sorry! =( Honestly I love your dress and think that you look fab in it. You are gorgeous and would look good in anything!! =) Maybe you will feel different once the dress comes in. Are you going to wear a veil? Maybe that would make you feel more girly. Or rather than a veil you good do a blingy head band/clip of some sort. Also the belts that Shannon posted from Etsy are so pretty! Good luck girl! It will all work out.

Also…can you take it into someone who alters dresses or maybe a play who custom makes dresses. They may have a lot of ideas about how you could change your current dress. That’s another option. They have have ideas that the hive isn’t even thinking of

Good luck!  It WILL all work out. sometimes we have some hiccups along the way…but when you get to your wedding day…everything will have fallen into place 🙂

love shannon idea… you can add a sash or some lace in the middle, your other otion is to sell it and buy another one if you really dislike this one.

my opinion is that this dress is beautiful and stunning and you look awesome in it… but at the end is your decision… good luck!!

I know other people have said this already and most likely it will not help the way you are feeling but you look phenomenal in that dress!  I think it is gorgeous…I would wear it for sure!  obviously if you don’t feel good in it then you should try to add something like they suggested.  Maybe next time you try it on…go in with your hair and makeup all done and try to get the “real” feel of the day!  You really do look great in this dress…I think it IS flattering and it is very feminine!

Have you considered going back to the shop and asking if you can try your dress on again? Maybe seeing it again will make you feel better about it… I think its hard for anyone to have to wait so long from when they buy their dress until it comes in… you start having doubts because you don’t even remember how it felt to have it on… (although you do have a picture…) It couldn’t hurt to call the shop… then after you try it on again see how you feel….

I really like your dress! I think it looks great on you. I second trying a sash, that could make you feel more girly!

your dress is absolutely lovely. but if you do want to make it a little more romantic, i like the sash idea with some fabric flowers.

I think it’s a pretty gown but I’m sorry you are not happy with it. maybe the bridal boutique can use the deposit towards another gown. Or you can jazz it up with a sash like some of the other ladies suggested.  Side not I am selling my first dress and you are interested let me know.  FYI, I am not trying to make a profit so I am willing to work with ANY budget.  PM if you like it

Honestly, I think that’s a beautiful dress!  I’m not just saying that to make you feel better either!  I love the layers on the skirt!  Like alot of other bees mentioned, you could add a sash.  I made a shash for my dress…to add a little bit more “me” to it.  Did you want a dress with straps?  Maybe you could make it strapless?  Honestly I don’t think you need to change anything about it..but these are just some suggestions..

I think that dress is beauiful and definitely girly!  If you want an extra something I agree you could add a sash or belt of some sort, but I truly love it just the way it is.

Yeah I agree witht he bees, it’s very pretty, but if you feel it’s plain make a whole new dress my adding a sash or belt, or killer jewelry that will really make you feel beautiful!
