Sold two dresses on Ebay app. Sottero and Pronovias. First within two weeks, second took a little over a month. Best advice I can give is be realistic with resale value, be courteous with questions and have patience. 50-60% of retail is the norm, if its a particularly popular style then maybe 70-75%.

HBIC :  I think you can list on multiple? The likelihood of them selling on different sites within a few hours of each other is slim 🙂

HBIC :  ebay worked for me. Reductions are huge on secondhand dresses so be prepared for that.

I haven’t sold one but I bought my dress second hand.

My advice: you need to discount it by at least 55% to sell quickly. Most people won’t want to spend more on a second hand dress than you paid for it brand new (after taking into account money you get from reselling)… I hope that makes sense.

ely16 :  Hi there,  is this true for a new,  never  worn, unaltered dress too…..in terms of only getting half of what you paid? Yikes :+(

earliecat :  I second this. I bought and sold two separate dresses on preownedweddingdresses.com, and had an excellent experience each time.  I bought my dress for 69% off retail, and got tons of views on the other dress I sold.  When selling, the website has a “calculator” that helps you figure out the cost to sell it at, and you can continue to change the price after listing it.

iluvhummingbirds :  hi there….

Might i ask how long it took until you sold your dress on preowned? Was it new and unaltered or worn on wedding day?

How much less did you have to post it for?

I’m trying to be patient just curious hoping it’ll sell as i now have purchased TWO dresses!!! uugh  ;+(

harleybeachbride6 :  Yes still true I think. Wedding dresses are like cars – they are no longer “new” once they leave the lot.

harleybeachbride6 :  Hi there. I think it took me two weeks to sell it. It was a short dress to wear at my reception, and I never wore it because I put a bustle on my wedding dress.
