I tried on a dress today at a local discount bridal shop. I never consider strapless but this dress caught my eye first because it was PINK! Think dusty rose, or a glass of blush/rose’ wine. Then I noticed the jewel encrusted accents on the bodice and ALL the way down the semi-cathedral train. PLUS, the dress has fabric covered buttons ALL the way down the train. Drool!
It also has optional spaghetti straps and the straps are jewel encrusted too! The jewels are very very vintage rhinestone looking with a ton of sparkle and color. The taffeta looks kind of like silk shantung. The dress seemed really well made and was just stunning in person. It also comes in ivory and white.
It is not what I was looking for when I went shopping today, but I can say without a doubt had it been my size I would have bought it, today, paid in full, because the shop had it for $300 and it’s brand new! And stunning! I can’t believe that because I hate strapless! I was sad to learn the shop owner can’t get specific dresses so I probably cannot have it as I am not willing to pay the retail price for it.
Definitely gave a vintage movie star vibe! Very regal!
So I wanted to post this, because when I came home and looked it up online (it seems to retail around $820), the pictures I found were awful! They just do not do it justice at ALL. I learned a valuable lesson about judging dresses by their web-pics!
I just thought I would share for anyone looking for this type of dress.. if it is in your price range you owe it to yourself to try it on in person if possible. It was just LOVELY. The web pics make it look kind of tan ? It is so unique and beautiful in this shade. Very out of the ordinary.
I will probably go with something more antique and lacey, less chic and sleek, but it is a dream of a dress in person!
Here it is:
