I think you could start looking now, but that you don’t need to buy for awhile. I bought mine 8 months prior and it will come in about 3 months before the date. Depending on how much you plan to lose, I’m guessing your body “type” will still be the same (e.g. Pear shape will just be a smaller pear shape) so I don’t think it would hurt to look now. One other thing to think about is your current size and what sizes the store will have in the samples. Maybe check with the stores you plan on going to and see what sample size the generally have. One last thought, if you find a dress you love, ask the store how long they plan to carry that sample. You could find one you love, then wait 2 or 3 months to try it on again. Sorry for the rambling. Good luck!

my celebration isn’t until 2013 and i am looking now.  why not look?  its fun! 🙂   Plus you have time to decide what you like/love and what you don’t so you can weed out the ones you dont like, and you wont be in a rush to find the perfect dress for you:)  Especially if it costs alot of money, then you will have a little extra time to shop around for prices, etc.

so i say GO FOR IT!!!!!

there is no harm in looking now. i originally planned to wait until i lost my weight, but after a last minute trip to NYC, i couldnt pass up going to Nicole Miller since i had been eyeing her dresses.  i ended up finding a dress i liked in the weight i was, which i thought “great, even if i dont lose weight, i can still wear it”.  before that my concern was i would feel fat in everything so i wanted to wait so i felt good in the dresses i tried on.  so i think if u can handle not loving them, there are dresses out made for all sizes and body types.

i would wait to buy a dress until u lose some weight though, its true you can get it altered, but for me, my thing was that some styles wont look good on me until i lost some weight, so i wanted to have more choice i guess.

so, i didnt vote because i guess my opinion doesnt fall in either of those choices! i am not recommending buying now versus not looking at all. i say look  now, but maybe wait a bit to actualy buy.
