This is my first post but I’ve been lurking for awhile. Now that I know a proposal is coming soon (picked out my ring!!) I’ve naturally been thinking a lot about planning a wedding. With that comes the wedding dress dilema.
I’ve got a strange body. I’m pretty short (5’2) and my soon to be fiance’ is 6’5. I suck in high heels (I can’t walk in them, my feet kill me in high heels). Thats not my only problem.
I’m so self conscious about my body. I’ve lost around 130 pounds, and although I’m still a plus size, my main concern is my arms! I have a lot of loose skin. I’m trying to tone up but I think it’ll always be a problem. I’ll probably have to wear some kind of coverup, but i’m worried that a coverup will be distracting from the dress, which should be the main focus! Any suggestions??
Sorry for the super long post!

Maybe this could give you some ideas: http://www.wonderfulwraps.com/
Also, it sounds cliche, but no bride ever looks bad on her wedding day 🙂

Welcome & congrats on your weight loss! That is amazing!
I’m a plus-size girl, was so nervous about dress shopping. I hate my arms, but I ended up having them bare. It all depends how you feel in the gown. There are a lot of beautiful boleros out there you could try 🙂

@heatherisadork: Congrats on your engagement and weight loss. Be so proud of it and own the way you look it is such a big accomplishment.
My friend is a plus size bride and has the same concerns as you. She went to a bridal shop where we live that caters to plus size brides and purchased a gown with a detachable top. It is perfect for her she is going to keep it on for photos and the ceremony and remove it after the formal dances. I personally think she looks wonderful in her dress big arms or small arms, when you are in a wedding gown on your special day I think all brides glow and the weight isn’t even something we see when we look at a bride, only her happiness!! http://www.dreaminsparkle.com
Best of luck and congrats again

I wore a lace bolero b/c I am not a fan of my arms, and because it was cold on our wedding day! I think with a simple dress, sleeves or a jacket are great. I LOVED my final look.

I am very self conscious about my arms as well, but when I tried on my dream dress, I realized that none of that mattered. My arms, my waist, my stomach… As soon as I put on the dress, I realized that when I walk down the isle no one will see that. They will see my beautiful and love and joy. Don’t worry about your arms, as I won’t be worrying about mine!
