I had the same problem! I went to 3 shops and found some decent options, but stopped in a little place on my way home from work one day and found THE ONE without my mom. I just made sure to take lots and lots of photos and booked a follow-up appointment where she could come in and see the dress on me. I hated making the decision without her, but she ended up completely understanding why I bought it once she saw it on me.

Good luck and just know that she’ll be happy with whatever you decide!

I like the overall fit on you, but I am not 100% sure on the placement of the beading as I think it chops you up a bit (that’s also the area of my body that I am most sensitive about, your belly is a lot flatter than mine so I should probably not bring my own prejudices into it!).  I do like the ribbon sash a lot, though–is there anything with a cut like that without the extra beading, or in a different location?

I agree with you.  It’s a beautiful dress… just doesn’t seem too flattering.  There are  more fish in the sea!

I am there with you, It is hard to find a dress for some of us. I thought I found one I loved on Friday, went home and looked at the pictures and it hit me in all the wrong places =(. Then I went shopping Saturday and found one that I think might be it. Its hard for me to commit though. Just keep shopping/ retry on the vera one. Usually I feel defeated all evening and the next morning I have a renewed energy to find my dress.

just don’t give up and you will find it. i can totally relate because i took ALOT of pictures and often thought i found the dress…..then on SEVERAL occasions i would go home, see the pics and just not love it anymore (or even wonder what was i thinking?!)…..i was getting discouraged and thought i would never find a dress i adored as they were all starting to blend together.  and even when i found my dress i definitely loved it, but at that point i questioned my immediate love because like so many before, i thought it would fade….but it didn’t!  the dress i got was the ONE dress that when i looked at the pictures, i liked it MORE! and the more i looked at the pic, the more i liked.  that only happened with ONE dress and after trying ALOT!!!! so don’t give up is all i have to say. and i think it is important to like the pics, because you are more objective then and also have to consider your wedding pictures – i wanted to like my dress in pics because all i was going to have after are my pictures and i want to love them!

It’s Christos Beautiful, right? I LOOOOVE that dress — so simple and classic, yet just enough detail at the waist to be special. Sigh. So I may be slightly biased because I just think it is such a stunning dress, but I think it looks great on you. I totally understand how confusing it is when you feel amazing with it on but don’t love the pictures. For what it is worth, I think you look amazing, but you have to feel good in it and love it. Good luck with the hunt!

That dress looks stunning on you but if you don’t feel like it’s the one, then keep looking! Good luck!
