I went dress shopping for the first time today and had a great experience, but got a little confused towards the end. The consultant had me squeeze into a dress a size too small, and then advised I order it now, on the spot, a size bigger, and that it would arrive 5 months from now.
Slight pushiness aside, she later found that a sister-store on the other side of the city had the dress in my size and she urged I come to the other store and try on that dress asap or ‘someone else might buy it’. I asked her to clarify if the dresses could be bought off the rack and she said no.
I’m confused – if all the dresses are ordered, then why is she worried that someone might buy the dress in my size?
