I just went for the first time on Saturday- bring a strapless bra and wear nude panties- not a thong, you may be changing in front of your fam plus the consultant.

Have fun!

try not to wear too much make up either, depending where you go they might frown on that. If you step into the dress though, it should not be a problem ๐Ÿ™‚

as for the heels, you generally do not have to worry about that stuff until fitting day

My biggest advice is to do your hair and makeup! Obviously not to the extent that it will be on your wedding day, just make sure that it looks nice. I know that if I’m already feeling “blah” with barely any makeup on and my hair just thrown back I feel like everything looks bad. When you’re going to be looking in mirrors all day you just want to make sure that you feel pretty to start with ๐Ÿ™‚

Oh, have so much fun! I was totally stressed before my first dress-shopping experience, and I had a lot of the same questions you did.

As far as underwear goes, I wore a strapless bra, comfy panties, and spanx. I mainly wore spanx because I felt more comfortable and covered up in them–like I wasn’t totally on display in front of everyone.

If you plan on wearing heels, I’d bring them. Though most salons have shoes for you to try on to get a feel for the overall look.

Just relax. Be vocal and opinionated–it’ll help your consultant zero in on what you really want. Enjoy the process and don’t feel pressured to choose or buy. Even if you find the dress on your first trip, take at least a day to sleep on it.

Have fun and can’t wait to hear how it goes!
