@merri22: I’m getting my dress from La Joli Mode on Harlem Avenue. The sample I tried on there was a 12. They are very nice people and the prices are reasonable.

Good luck!

I wore a 14/16 when I went dress shopping in Chicago and unfortunately there wasn’t anything. A few stores carried maybe 1 or 2 plus size dresses and the rest they clipped on, which was kind of a joke.

I had the best experience at Belle Vie. They had about 3 or 4 dresses that fit. Macy’s Bridal Salon had about the same amount. I think Eva’s in Oak Lawn had a decent selection of plus size samples, but I don’t know if they’ve reopened after the fire. My worst experiences were at Ultimate Bride and Priscilla of Boston, which had no samples that fit (crazy that a flagship salon for Priscilla of Boston wouldn’t have any!) If you’re willing to try on second hand dresses, White Exchange has a variety of dresses (the sizes and labels are listed on their website).

Good luck. I went to ten different bridal salons in Chicago and it was overwhelming, but definitely a once in a lifetime experience. Have fun!

Bella Sposa in Tinley Park…. They are amazing and sooooo helpful.

I am also a 14. I purchased my dress from there.

I could not speak more highly of them.
