Just think about when you buy the dress, it’s easy to get out to LI.  But once you start having dress fittings (I had 3) are you really going to want to have to go out to LI for those too.  Just something to think about.  It’s why I bought my dress at the Wedding Salon of Manhasset instead of Kleinfelds, I didn’t want to have to go into the city for every dress fitting.

Have fun shopping though!!!!!

I found my dress (well, contender dress, haven’t bought it yet!) at Bridal Reflections in Massapequa. Had a great experience! Really loved it and their selection. My consultant knew exactly what dress to get based on the photos I showed her. I am planning on going back in December with my mom, and hopefully either getting that dress or maybe another one (if we choose to keep looking).

@jenter: The dress I was going to get was $1400, and it was a pretty detailed dress. They have several “low-end” (I hate to say that because they are still nice!) dresses. I would call them though. If you have a budget, they can tell you if they have anything that fits that budget, or if you have a designer and budget, they’ll be able to tell you what they have in stock.

Their 5th Ave store is much higher. They told me for my budget of under $2K that I would have to go to the Massapequa store.

You could check out the Macy’s, they carry Demetrios and I think that some would be under $1000
