So on a saturday afternoon my mother and Maid/Matron of Honor (my lil sister) set out to find me a dress. First stop was a dress shop with my favorite designer Maggie Sottero. Of course all of these dresses were way over my max budget of $500 so I wont even show you those dresses because it just depresses me I couldn’t get them :(. But then we went to a store in my hometown that all the dresses were under $299. Yes you read that right ALL the dresses were under $299!! So of course we had to check it out.
Here was my first dress I tried on:
The look on my face tells you that it was not for me……
Then I tried on this: But it was too bland for my taste
This one was definitly a really good option but I wanted a dress with pick-ups on the bottom, but I have to say this does look good on me.
This one I almost got but again it didn’t have the pickups. (my Maid/Matron of Honor is behind me holding it on me because it was about 4 sizes too big.)
These dresses matched so well but again it was not my style. (note we are holding the dresses on eachother because they were again a few sizes too big).
This dress looked too much like a prom dress just in white but I do like the Bridesmaid or Best Man dress my sister is wearing. (Funny story, you see how we look like the same height that is because my sister is barefoot and I am sanding on a 6 inch pedestal!
And then finally “the dress” it was everything I wanted and even had extra length so I could put in pickups, the lady at the store pinned it up to give me a rough idea of wat it will look like. (note: I know this dress makes me look bigger then the other dresses but this is because it was just 1 size to big so we didn’t bother to hold it tight to my body like the others whenit is alter it will look much better 🙂 and the best part?! this dress was only $299 and came with a bolero and and purse to match. A steal right?
How did your dress shopping go? Did you find your dream dress on your first outing?
