Went back for return visit to retry on one of the dresses I had seen before and try a couple of new ones. You were all so helpful last time, I would really appreciate some honest comments on these ones – and if you don’t like, please say why – I am particularly concerned about my stomach area so would like opinions on if they are flattering or not!!
Bit of background – I am getting married for a second time to a wonderful man in a modern hotel in August so hoping it will be warm (ish!), I am nearly 50 so want to be fairly age appropriate but also want to make our wedding a bit different.
Ok first dress – this one please bear in mind needs alterations to the top part but my friend is a professional dressmaker so no worries about having to do that! I like this because I like the material across the stomach area and it feels like a posh dress!
This second one felt very bridal and swishy – I didnt expect to like it but thought it was very flattering when I had it on. It was much more structured than I thought I would like.
Then this third one is the one I tried before and really like as well – it is so comfortable but that little bit different.
Thank you bees xx

@Blackie: I still love the third one (:

@Blackie: Oy this is so very hard. I honestly do like all three of them on you, but I will still detail why and why not (btw, #1 is my pick):
- I adore how simple the design is on this one. You’re right it is very posh, and will only look better once it’s altered and fitted to your body. However, I am worried about the ruching across the stomach and how unforgiving silk charmeuse is. We don’t have a side view of the dress, and it might make that area look rounder instead of slimmer. If that won’t be an issue (due to undergarments, tailoring, etc.), then this is my top pick!
- This one make you look incredible, and those verical pleats just highlight how awesome your figure is (slim, with curves in all of the right places). However, it’s also the most boring and least exciting of the three, so this is my last pick.
- I love this one on you. The pattern is so differnt and unique, and the sleeveless shape is truly very flattering on you. However, I am worried that the dress might be hiding your curves and that your figure is getting lost in the sheath shape of the dress. If it’s more fitted once altered and in your size, then this is my second pick. 🙂

Yup, love the third one still, too.

omg i love the first one, you look so classic

I love the third one on you, it’s really unusual and you look great in it!

@Blackie: I voted for the third dress.
Dress 1 – It’s a classic look, and I’m sure it will look better with alterations. That being said, I don’t think the fabric will be very forgiving (and you mentioned your stomach was an area of concern). You may end up feeling self-conscious, and that’s definitely not the way you want to feel on your wedding day!
Dress 2 – It’s flattering, but a little plain. It really didn’t stand out to me as a “special” dress, and it sounds as though that’s what you’re looking for.
Dress 3 – I love it. It’s very flattering, and the design is unique. It’s also a huge plus that you find it comfortable … That’s very important, in my opinion! I really hope you choose this one. It’s gorgeous!

I picked 1 because I liked it the most but I think 3 might be better for you. You are more comfortable in the dress and it’s definitely pretty & unique.

I had a hard time choosing between 1 and 3. They are both gorgeous! #2 just doesn’t seem as unique and special.
You look both classical and modern at the same time! In my opinion it’s the best style on you out of all 3.

@Blackie: My favourite is still number 3

#3 all the way! Fun but still elegant. You look beautiful in them all, though!

#2 looks the best on you 🙂 Accessories would really dress it up
or u could even keep looking for another dress same shape as dress 2 but different material

Ooo I love the first one on you!! I love everything about that dress, it is so posh (and from the sounds of it, it would suit your wedding so well) and yet so classically beautiful. By enlarge I think silk charmeuse can be a fairly unforgiving material, but I think the ruching helps compensate for that, and you look fabulous in that dress.

I like 3 best. 2 looks a bit too young. 1 I think actually draws attention to your belly with the fabric, so I’d avoid it. 3 looks amazing.
