BetchyBride:  I say try on EVERYTHING just so you know! I knew the exact dress I wanted, but I still tried on many other styles just to verify its what I wanted. I knew I wanted a strapless lace fit and flare. I was trying on everything from full tulle ballgowns, to mermaid dresses I could barely squeeze my legs into. It was a great experience and I know 200% I picked the perfect dress for me.

First of all – YAAAY, you’re going wedding dress shopping! There’s nothing wrong with trying on a million dresses, it’s fun! I’m normally a very meticulous person too but wedding dress shopping is different, you literally don’t know what you’re dealing with until you put it on. I had my eye on a certain dress for ages but when I tried it on, it looked like curtains. You think you want a ball gown now but when you actually go and try on dresses, you might discover a trumpet shape, for example, is way more flattering on you.

What you can do, though, is research. Look at the salon’s website, see which dresses they offer and make a list of all the dresses that you’d like to try on. It makes things run a lot more smoothly. Ask to take pictures and if the salon won’t allow it, ask a friend to write down a quick description of the dress you’ve just tried on. My friend and I had tons of fun doing it. Oh, and ask your consultant for suggestions. My consultant actually found the dress I ended up buying, it wasn’t even on their website yet because it had just arrived.

I hope that helps!
