And have NO IDEA what I’m looking for other than I know I want a ball gown type wedding gown! When I first started posting here I had two options and now it’s gone to like 2 million! (Okay exaggeration, but you know!)
So I’m hoping this is normal? I mean my wedding is decently a ways off and though we are aiming for June 2016 it’s likely due to our jobs/work travel it may be a big more of a wait which is fine. I guess I’m just wondering if it’s okay to just try on a shit ton if gowns then decide! The only reason why I’m thinking its not normal is because normally I am so meticulous and this is literally the only thing I’m having issues with saying YES THIS IS IT THIS IS THE PLAN too!

I say try on EVERYTHING just so you know! I knew the exact dress I wanted, but I still tried on many other styles just to verify its what I wanted. I knew I wanted a strapless lace fit and flare. I was trying on everything from full tulle ballgowns, to mermaid dresses I could barely squeeze my legs into. It was a great experience and I know 200% I picked the perfect dress for me.

First of all – YAAAY, you’re going wedding dress shopping! There’s nothing wrong with trying on a million dresses, it’s fun! I’m normally a very meticulous person too but wedding dress shopping is different, you literally don’t know what you’re dealing with until you put it on. I had my eye on a certain dress for ages but when I tried it on, it looked like curtains. You think you want a ball gown now but when you actually go and try on dresses, you might discover a trumpet shape, for example, is way more flattering on you.
What you can do, though, is research. Look at the salon’s website, see which dresses they offer and make a list of all the dresses that you’d like to try on. It makes things run a lot more smoothly. Ask to take pictures and if the salon won’t allow it, ask a friend to write down a quick description of the dress you’ve just tried on. My friend and I had tons of fun doing it. Oh, and ask your consultant for suggestions. My consultant actually found the dress I ended up buying, it wasn’t even on their website yet because it had just arrived.
I hope that helps!

Thanks to both of you 🙂 and thanks for the input! The only reason I pretty sure I want a ball gown is I’ve had to wear them before (obviously not a wedding gown!) for different dinner fundraiser stuff for my dad’s clients. And I’m interested in trumpet dresses as well! The only thing I know for sure is I want strapless.
And I say that now and I’ll end up with a long sleeve dress lmfao!
Agh!!! Anxiety (in a good way) and just so much freaking excitement!! 😀
