I would say try on styles you wouldn’t expect yourself to like- you never know how you’ll feel when it’s on.  You see so many dress regret posts on here- so be sure you really love your gown and don’t settle.

That allure dress you listed is stunning! Have fun shopping, bee!

I was supposed to go dress shopping this weekend too, but cancelled my apt because I forgot to tell Fiance and he surprised me with tickets to an RV show(I’d much rather do that anyway lol) probably for the best, I face planted while taking out the trash the morning and my face is definitely banged up. Who wants pics of themselves in dresses with a fat lip and swollen nose 🙁

In any case, I went shopping at a consignment store before and it was so much fun. Just try lots of different silouettes and fabrics. I didn’t think I’d like trumpet or chiffon, but ended up liking both.

Here’s the $20 dress I bought off eBay. It’s an old MoriLee and is my backup dress if I can’t find anything I like in my price range. Please forgive the quick bedroom shot and busted up face .

I was actually one of those dress regret posts.  BUT I pick up my dress on Saturday and am super excited to see it!!! My advice to you is to try on every style your first trip to get a feel of what you want.  That way your’re not wasting time at other appointments.  That was one of my faults.  I kept trying on so many different styles at every store that it was so hard to narrow down because they were all so different!  Also, I wouldn’t go to too many stores, the more dresses the more confusing it gets!  Here is mine.  Hoping it looks way better when I have it on in my size.

I was obsessed with my dress… Martina Liana has the most beautiful lace.

volvo321 :  Be open minded to what the consultant pulls for you! I went in wanting a poofy lace ballgown, and left with this beauty!

Thought I wanted long sleeve mermaid, and ended up in love with this gown!  I ordered a bigger hoop skirt while waiting for it to come in just to give her a little extra drama

I just love my dress! It’s a two piece. Never thought I’d go for a two piece. The top in this picture is a little small and I ordered the top in my size and haven’t tried it on yet. I’m in the process of losing weight and want to try it on when I feel comfortable. Has to be soon though.

When I went dress shopping, I went into it thinking I wanted a ball gown type but realized it wasn’t right for my body type. Go into shopping with an open mind. This style was what I originally thought of when we first got engaged. I still haven’t decided if I want a veil or not. Our wedding is outside and I don’t want it blowing around. Going for a simple flower crown or beaded like the picture.
